I was getting ready to come talk about him. The question is… he may be loyal to his coach and transfer to SLU with him. If he doesn’t I’d throw bags and bags and bags at him. Woodson needs to promise him a starting spot and he is from Indianapolis so hopefully he grew up an IU Fan. It’s crazy how much talent from Indiana we pass up on.

As I sit here watching Marquette I’m surprised more people don’t want us to look at Shaka Smart. I don’t like how he “plays defense” on the sideline but what he’s done with three different teams, two of which don’t have the resources we have, and the third being a football school is pretty impressive. He should be right behind Pearl if not equal to Pearl. -
I think we take three bigs. One to replace Ware, one to replace Sparks, one to replace Walker. With that being said if there is a dude who can backup the 3 and the 4 I’m totally fine with it but we need someone who can score because Reneau hasn’t proven he can stay on the court and while Walker was serviceable we struggled scoring when him and Sparks were in together. Also, his position in Woody’s offense had lots of 3 point chances so we need to be selective and get someone who could should the 3 pointer well enough.

But what recruits do we have coming in for next season? Also no one this year proved they were really ready to replace Scalia or Holmes. I understand Holmes backup isn’t terrible but there isn’t much parity in the womens game so if you want to keep advancing beyond sweet 16 you have to bring in some top experienced players. Kentucky is a perfect example.

Yeah I hope she gets a transfer portal player to replace Scalia and to replace Holmes. I’d love the girl from holy cross who had one year of eligibility left and just had 19 vs Iowa. She shoote 40% from three

When you’re good at being a used car salesman but bad at X’s and O’s the new way of doing things really exposes you as a coach. The only way he will have future success is if he legit brings in an offensive coordinator type assistant coach and lets them strictly implement the plays. -

The more I hear Jay Wright speak in studio the more I want IU to go after him as a coach. -

5-star guard Boogie Fland Commits to Kentucky

Doesn’t matter because Woodson won’t promise him playing time like he wants. I’m sure whoever Kentucky hires if Cal is gone will be a homerun hire. -

CMW would adjust his defense when his team wasn’t figuring it out. He doesn’t adjust things to fit his personnel. He’s an NBA guy where it’s man to man switch defense and ISO offense. Here is two problems with his stubborn thought process. 1. A lot more NBA players stay more than 1-3 years so it’s easier for them to learn defense he runs, the players are typically much higher level of players than what he will realistically try to teach at college level, he will always have lots of new players with how he’s doing things who can’t learn his defense quick enough. 2. With his inside out offense the guards in the nba can make shots at a lot higher of a clip than what we have. He has to stop coaching like an NBA coach if this is going to work -
Malik Reneau is returning to IU

I just don’t think he’s nearly as explosive. Trayce dunked in two games as many times as Reneau has in two years. He’s unfortunately just never going to be athletic and why he can never play the 5 and be a shot blocker. His motor also has to change but I really am glad he’s back because he does some really good things -
The problem is he is a high volume guy just like Blackmon from Stetson. To me you want to only bring in one high volume guy but he better be of the skill set of Caleb Love. Walker only had two games against high majors and one was Purdue where his shot struggled and he only had 12 points on 13 shots. Other game he had 20 pts but on 21 shots where he was 5-21 from the floor.

Low chance it’s IU but not sure who else it would be. -
Defense doesn’t matter if you can’t score. Especially modern day game. Look at Virginia their foundation is built on defense not offense and it just doesn’t work anymore. I get what you’re saying but reality is Reneau isn’t going anywhere and if MM comes back he’s starting too. So we might as well get guards that can score. If we lose Reneau and MM we are in trouble regardless of their issues.
