I saw on Twitter (not saying it’s true) he was shot and killed in Florida. He also had a toddler who had serious health issues and not sure what ever came of that but tough times for his family.

I know people talk about him coaching the team in shooting but isn’t he restricted from in court coaching once he officially takes the role?

It could be based off of certain qualifiers. Maybe do it off of a WAR type setting.

I put this on the recruiting thread but also plays here as well: I think due to the NIL this is going to be more of a norm. You can’t single in on people and hope they commit because dummies like Miami can come in and offer a player $800k when he’s not worth it and messes up team chemistry. I think it would be cool if they created a Tier system. If you’re a Tier 1 your pay is let’s say $250k-$1m tier 2 $200k-$250k tier 3 $100k-$200k and tier 4 $15k-$100k. You have to be re evaluated every year to see which tier you qualify for that year. It limits people over paying and also keeps it more of an even playing field

Brian Walsh has talked about how good Kopp is in practice. I feel like it was Walsh. Something happens in the game for Kopp and his nerves affect him. Now that Walsh can do on court coaching I’m hoping he fixes whatever Kopp had an issue in.

Honestly wouldn’t bother me. I think we are going to get bigger fish. Same with Xavier Booker. I think him and Woody would clash because of Bookers motor.

If Dexter Dennis comes then we are over signed by one if TJD comes back. That’s only reason someone would leave.

I agree as I think Malik is a 5 as well. LD won’t get playing time here until year 3 unless TJD leaves. I think LD waits on that decision

Someone on Twitter over the weekend tweeted out Mike the closet Woodson or something along those lines so I was hoping it was in reference to Malik. I watched him play and he wasn’t overly athletic but he’s also top 25 for a reason so I trust our coaching staff to develop him.m to become athletic.

IU hasn’t announced Adam Howard to replace coach Walsh have they? If not I think Creek would be absolutely perfect in that role to prep him to take an assistant job for us once someone else leaves.

We offered him a preferred walk on with the chance to earn a scholarship. He’s legit. I’d be surprised if we got him. I think he could be a mid major guy who will do really well then get a scholarship offer from bigger programs after a year or two IMO. I think Coach Lewis at Ball State would be smart to offer if he already hasn’t and could convince him to come there.

He was never going to be more than an associate AD here so I’m not sure why you think we should’ve hired him literally one year into Woodsons tenure. If I’m a recruit why would I want to come play under Matta when his health may not even hold up a half of a year.

Oh I agree completely. I think it’s great to get names out there as it’s great to discuss. I would’ve never known his name unless you said something.

Pretty much didn’t produce against the two power 5 schools he faced so that kind of makes me lose some interest. 5 points 7 rebounds vs texas tech. 4 points 5 rebounds vs Illinois.

Do you think both can make impacts as freshman or more as sophmores? If impact as freshmen more or less than bates? Same thoughts as Banks. Anyone can answer this as I’d like everyone’s opinion

Couldn’t Woody make that up by talking to those coaches one on one. Maybe he sends something out that says if you’re an Indiana coach and want to talk one on one here’s a number to reach me to set something up. A coach is going to get max 5 minutes in a setting at championship games because of the environment. Building it in a more personal setting is the better play anyways IMO.

39% fits my personal desire for what I would want from a player in the portal as long as it was enough attempts to not be a fluke
