Couldn’t Woody make that up by talking to those coaches one on one. Maybe he sends something out that says if you’re an Indiana coach and want to talk one on one here’s a number to reach me to set something up. A coach is going to get max 5 minutes in a setting at championship games because of the environment. Building it in a more personal setting is the better play anyways IMO.

39% fits my personal desire for what I would want from a player in the portal as long as it was enough attempts to not be a fluke

I commented first on back up PG being JHS so what do I win? 😂😂😂

I actually think JHS fills that role especially if he can’t shoot it consistently but is great at driving. I’d rather use that spot on a really good shooting Wing. We have to find someone who shoots a lot and is around 38-42% from three consistently. We have to be smart and picky.

Brian Walsh - New Assistant Coach
IUfaninIllinois replied to FritzIam4IU's topic in General Basketball Discussion
So if it is Walsh is the only change in duties going to be he can travel to get after recruits? I initially didn’t like the Walsh thing and it wasn’t because he’s not talented but instead because now we have to replace him and if likely won’t be anybody as good as we could’ve gotten with thing s new assistant like Adams. If it is Walsh there is a person on Twitter who is a former IU player who is younger and absolutely loves IU. I also think he does some personal coaching but I can’t think of his name. I wonder if he would be interested in joining the staff to replace Walsh. -
I would agree. I also think Race got too tired during games and also by end of season. Which surprised me for as good of shape as he got in while he was here.

I wonder if a coach or anyone prominent has ever secretly been a member of one of the HSN platforms. -

You were saying you want one Of the assistants to be player development but if we have paid consultants like wittman who do that now then all of our assistants first priority should be elite recruiting because here’s the issue if you put all of your recruiting eggs in Yw and Hunter and both leave before Woody closes on those recruits that puts us behind a year after that happens -

But doesn’t wittman do that now as a paid consultant who comes to practices? -

No I meant Woody hiring Wittman as an assistant year 1 instead of Ya or whoever was last -
Brian Walsh - New Assistant Coach

Exactly because what if wittman goes into homes as the main recruiter and screws up and we lose someone an elite recruiter can get. If he could recruit and wanted the job I’d have to think he would’ve been hired in year 1. -

Is that why they all got suspended before northwestern because they had Walsh doing Keg work?????? -

That’s my concern. Leave him as a paid consultant and leave the recruiting to the experienced ones. -

Yep usually when someone is quoting you they are asking you how many ex wives you have now 😂😂😂😂😂 and you take it like a true champ. I laugh at your stuff all of the time. You’re one of the people who I’ve come to appreciate and respect and we’ve never even talked in PM. Thanks for being on this board. -

Who is Drew Adams? Is he an elite recruiter? -

I personally don’t want Michael Lewis. Not a knock on him but he’s going to get a head coaching gig very soon if not this year definitely next. We need someone who is going to stay 3-4-5 years and build something special. Brian Walsh apparently kills it on the recruiting trail but what can he do differently as an assistant coach and can we bring someone whose just as good as him int his position. If we can’t I’d give him a raise to stay in same position so we can still get an elite recruiter. -
Any update on if Ya is going to Louisville or not?

I was meaning 12-15 minutes if we replaced Durr with someone way more serviceable than him. As a veteran he made wayyyy too many mistakes.
