Just to confirm, did Tipton delete a tweet confirming a Friday announcement, or did the deleted tweet say the announcement would not be Friday?

Yardon on Cheryl Miller preseason watch list
supposedly we can vote for her but I didn’t see a link?
Garzon has a chance to be an all-time great, in my opinion. She was already one of the best, most reliable shooters I've evet seen as a freshman, especially under pressure. Could be Nat'l PotY good by her senior year, IMO.
She was also lights out tonight in the 3 point shooting contest. 19 for 25.

Any chance we prioritize this recruitment more now, post-Fland?

Can't read the first Cassidy tweet, but to me the fact Self visited yesterday helps explains why Liam hasn't announced yet. It's just the courteous thing to do to entertain the visit. Now sure, it's possible Self said something that changes the decision. But more likely, now that the visit is over, McNeeley can commit to IU.

IU announced 4 and 6 game mini pack options today, with the latter including Kansas and MSU. But it's possible that those are still student games, and that the 6 game plans are limited to whatever faculty/staff tickets went unsold.

Great catch Eddy. I was wondering when we were going to get a complete schedule. The last few years the B1G has released the schedule in early September, with TV times announced a few weeks later. Maybe they are waiting to do it all at once this year?

This has probably been mentioned elsewhere, but I really respect the fact that Queen's recruitment is so under-the-radar. Seems like a guy who doesn’t need attention, but just wants to play ball. Sign him up!

Cuban can't give NIL money to potential NBA draft picks under NBA league rules.

I think our biggest competition for Queen is Maryland and for McNeeley is Texas. If they want to play together IU is pretty much the only common denominator. With that being said Does Queen want to be a one and done? Is he too similar to TJD? Not that being similar to TJD is a bad thing but Woody wants to be a faced laser run and gun NBA style and said he had to change because of TJD. Does getting Queen affect that? I’d take Queen in a heart beat as he hustled and I think plays bigger than he is but if I remember correctly he is literally just a back to his back post player.
Given that our interest in all bigs other than Queen has apparently cooled considerably, I'm guessing the staff thinks he fits their preferred style.

Guessing the rumor mill will pick up for Mustaf soon. Was scheduled to visit Maryland this weekend, decision in 11 days...

This says Sanderson is 2026 per @The Daily Hoosier but good call...
The cited article says his dad is the strength and conditioning coach for Michigan basketball 🤔
His dad was a pretty good player in his own right...averaged just under double figures in scoring as a freshman at Ohio State.

Let's get McNeeley, Queen, Fland, and Mustaf. That would work.

Interesting piece on how expansion will affect hoops scheduling. The consensus seems to be the conference will have to expand the league schedule to 22-24 games, perhaps extending into November, with most schools then easing up on the non-conference schedule accordingly. Each team likely to make a two-game trip to Washington/Oregon or UCLA/USC annually.

Would be a really nice get and good way to start the class.

Are you sure there won't be students for Kansas? It's the day after finals so I thought they'd still get tickets.

Was IU on RaeQuan Battle this year, before he committed to WVU? Could be back on the market with the Huggins news.

Would Fland and Harper complement one another, or is it more likely an either-or scenario?

I don't believe we offered him originally, nor did many power programs, so what's changed? Did he blow up this year? Or is it just that he's one of the few remaining available talents?

The 2023-24 Big 10 Torvik ratings are pretty interesting...IU is projected to have the 3rd best overall and Big 10 records (20-11 and 11-9)...
Look at the "talent" and "experience" colums though...Third in talent to MSU and Maryland, but we have the least experience in the Big 10...
Probably doesn't make a difference, but Torvik's depth chart doesn't include Gunn or Walker, but does have Leal getting 10% MIN%. That doesn't seem particularly realistic to me.

I don’t believe IU will be adding anyone else via the portal unless something crazy happens
Meaning only a grad transfer, or no further non-HS additions?

For anyone interested in who's declared for the draft, here's a list:

One possible target that stood out to me was Tristen Newton from UConn.

It's tantalizing to think about a starting lineup featuring four 5-stars and XJ. From a talent perspective, there wouldn't be too many teams in the country that could match that.
Like others, though, I would worry about chemistry. I also think it's important for the program's long-term trajectory that the staff be able to successfully get Mgbako and Ware into the NBA next year. That would be harder to accomplish while trying to do the same for Love as well. That having been said, if they could turn all three of those guys into first rounders, the recruiting momentum would be off the charts.

I realize that Bidunga is probably a long shot, given how many people have said as much here, but I can't help but feel that the odds are better than they would appear. It seems strange to me that he would visit as frequently as he has if there wasn't legitimate interest. I also believe I read something fairly recently that suggested he is still only just starting to understand the dynamics of U.S. college basketball. So I could see it being a situation where the more he acclimates himself, the more attractive that IU would become. Especially if we were able to string together some early commitments from guys like Harper and Newell, that sort of momentum could help us out as well.
