  1. Can you explain how Boston has leverage here? I don't understand. If pacers got Brogden on a sign and trade for 2 2nd rounders last year, how is this tremendously different?
  2. Is Romeo the modern day Grant Hill? Constantly injured so we never see his true potential? Granted he's like 19.8 years old so the story is yet to be told.
  3. Which would not be a straight up trade. Would involve a bunch of others and picks.
  4. Well add hornets to the list of horribly run organizations that would out pay the Pacers and overpay Hayward in the process.
  5. I hope so he never gives you a reason not to cheer for him so I do continue to root for him just wish that shot against Duke would have fallen.
  6. I know he got rolling. I have forgotten about the ins and outs of recent injuries. It's just my opinion that if the price is 30 mil or so a year, Pacers are out and most of us Pacer fans on this board are wasting our breath or typing fingers, whatever. Just like Pacers were out when Mike Conley was discussed. 30+ mil a year for guys that can't carry you to a championship, have either injury or age up against them. Sounds like deals the knicks and kings are professionals at. Surprised a conservative team like Utah pushed the chips in for Conley last year. Didn't move the needle at all. Usually doesn't. Take CP3. Heck of a player but he isn't taking you anywhere and the salary handicaps your supporting cast.
  7. Definitely don't disagree with the strategy. We have to build it like the Billups Pistons. If it becomes a bidding war, I predict the Pacers are out. Just not their MO. I've seen, Pacers, kings, hawks, Jazz, and knicks rumored to be interested. I would imagine more teams are. Pacers won't outspend someone dumb like kings, hawks, or knicks. Not sure Jazz can with Conley's monster money.
  8. Yall can keep him. Respectfully. I know you watch way more of him than me. Me calling him a mid level player may be shorting him but I doubt he will ever be an all star again. Certainly not worth $34,187,085. He's 29, injury prone? Maybe he's looking for 4 years 100 range? I guess we will find out by Thursday afternoon. Thanks but no thanks. Ainge is notorious for fleecing the hell out of teams on trades. I don't think Pritchard is the fleece-able type. Edit: I couldn't get into the playoffs. What happened there? 10.8 pts.
  9. I love the Pacers and love most Indiana born kids and want them back home. What I don't understand is paying, grossly over paying, Gordon Hayward. And. And helping the Celtics not only get off the hook of his salary, some of you are talking about a sign and trade. Why would the Pacers do either of those things which would both massively give the Celtics an advantage. Prediction. I don't think Pritchard makes moves like that. Maybe it becomes a renegotiated extension, sign and trade and the Pacers get Hayward around 18 mil for 4 years. Somebody help me out on the rationale here because I see a guy that's a mid level player now.
  10. I'm starting to believe that's the case. He also said from the get go people don't have the discipline to wear or care for them properly and that may actually make things worse. Go watch people in public. Or think about it yourself, next time you wear your mask. How many times do you adjust it, now touching your face? Did you used to touch your face 9 times while in the grocery? Not likely unless you were really itchy. Marines also can't touch their face while in formation.
  11. I did see him as the 2nd best forward available behind Brow who isn't actually available.
  12. Sounds like with clarification it's either or with those picks. Still don't get it though.
  13. I just saw the Bojan thing went through. So that replaces the shooting loss of G Hill. That's a really solid all the way around starting 5 that really perfectly compliments Giannis. They have to stay healthy. They have zero depth. There isn't really anything to discuss about as far as cap. Guess the question is how close are they going to push to hard cap?
  14. You're right. Robin is the lesser of the 2 and he's declining. Their core four is nice. If Giannis signs a 50 per year deal, Middleton at 33, holiday at 26, brook lopez at 12, they have 11 mil to spend. Read all in teams aren't likely to care about luxury this year with some announcement about a luxury tax discount of 20% if revenue is reduced at a certain percentage, can't remember what.
  15. Me too because that means less talent around him. Guys aren't taking paycuts to go Milwaukee to chase rings with Giannis. Not until he proves he can deliver a ring by carrying leftovers. And honestly, he has now 2 all stars with him. Holiday at point and Middleton. They are sacrificing depth. Lopez was nice and fit the role well. Hill was shooting great at 46%. DiVincenzo was a nice complementary guy, who may still breakout more. I'm not sure they have actually gotten better, so far. Bledsoe was a scoring threat.
  16. And Cal could be replacing Vic as the face of the Pacers as the Hoosier connection. Could be a free 2 for 1. If Vic does roll out.
  17. Thanks. Sitting waiting on an oil change and recalls got me thinking, maybe there is more than meets the eye.
  18. Ok. Was Calbert on staff at IU during Oladipo's time? Just heard DD say something along the lines of Vic wants to stay and unless Doyle and what's his name, name names, this will blow over.
  19. That's a horrible rumor. May be the other way around. Westbrook and a 1st rounder for PG. Unless PG's injury situation is worse than thought.
  20. If I'm Knicks I swing for the fences and try CP3 and Westbrook. Can always start over again in 2 or 3 years but at least you would get 2 competitive years.
  21. Well. Not good Did doyel ever call in to DD
