  1. Has anyone read up recently on Switzerland? Aren't they the ones that if you are young and healthy, carry on, just be smart and hygienic? Can someone give a synopsis and link any good articles? I'm what many would consider front lines, on the street. I sat in the office and listened to dispatch for over 2 hours over the weekend. The volume of runs goimg out what about 1 every 5 minutes. Usually we are popping them off one after another with the occasional 30 second gap. Strange times. I'm skeptical, not that it isn't real because it is and I have witnessed it and have now had a neighbor and a few friends have it. I was exposed myself in mid March on a confirmed patient. At some point and some point soon, things need to loosen up. Wear a mask if necessary, stay home if sick, elderly, or compromised. La and a few others have already announced mask wearing in public. We have seen the dominoes and by the end of the week, every major city will say the same thing.
  2. I'm not arguing. Ny must not follow best practice. Which is good on scene cpr. I've sadly had to walk past many family members after doing all the we can do. Sure it's sad but so is the fact that 156,000 people die on average, every day globally. On working cardiac arrests we have 10 fresh men and women, at least 2, usually 3 medics working a patient. If you try to do that in a 5-10 minute ride to er in the back of an ambulance, you aren't providing good CPR which has been proven to be the most important thing. Maybe I'm confused and need to reread your post.
  3. This is a pure example of fear mongering. We, first responders, always work to resuscitate a patient on scene for 30 mins, that has been protocol as long as I have been on the department and is based on scientific research of best practices for recovery. There are 2 exceptions. 1 pediatrics. 2 when spontaneous resuscitation occurs then we load them up and get to a hospital. Each city and state has their own protocols but I have always been under the impression these are recommendations from the American Heart Association, therefore, widely held and followed.
  4. Again, on average 156,000 people die on Earth everyday. So to put this in perspective, since the end of October roughly 28 MILLION people have died on Earth. That we know of 112k from corona. We need to get a serious grip here. We need to ask questions and think. Don't just throw away conspiracy theories with blind trust in governments of any kind from any party. If corona is freaking you out please don't read Revelation 6 and 8. 1/4 of the population gone in chapter 6 and another 1/3 in 8. That's freightening. If you live through that chances are you'll be assigned as grave digger or body mover.
  5. anyone had any experience with yellowwoods or have any around you? We planted some last fall and it doesn't appear to be emerging yet. I'm on the Noblesville Cicero line.
  6. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/disaster-motion-34-million-travelers-poured-us-coronavirus/story?id=69933625
  7. My buddy is hearing the governor is about to cancel school the rest of the year. We shall see.
  8. The kid is ranked around 75th in his class. In this case, I'm going against my own standards....go troll somewhere else you boob.
  9. Dang Joe. Sorry to hear that. Were they able to save it or is it gone? I cut the tip of my finger off when I was 2 and they sewed it back on. Have an odd looking fingernail now.
  10. Just checked. Indiana has 32 deaths. I looked up Indiana death rates. For chronic lower respiratory disease in the state of Indiana an avg of around 12 people die DAILY. Until the media starts giving us the entire story along with preexisting conditions fear will continue to rise. 87 people have died from the flu this season(cdc says fall and winter). Still think the social distancing, working from home, and taking all other precautions is necessary but the end of this will come quickly if we stick with data over fear. Last I read the 3 best things for prevention are still, washing hands, staying home or away from sick (quarantine), and don't touch your face.
  11. I take that as very positive. We're taking in and testing the most sick people with fever and respiratory distress all the other symptoms etc and only 15% of those are coming out positive that is very good news.
  12. Cuomo was also just on tv holding up a bag valve mask calling it a respirator.
  13. Some people are comimg to realize through all this that government is a problem not a solution. Huh.
  14. So, does anyone know how many people die on Earth daily? Around 57 million annually, 156,000 daily. Does anyone know how many people die in new york city daily? 152 on avg. 9.1 per hour. Does anyone know how many people in the United States of lower respiratory disease annually? Around 160000 on avg. How many people world wide have died from corona world wide that we know of? 23335. 1246 in the us as of right now on cdc. Not saying don't take precautions so we don't overwhelm the intensive cares. Do all the necessary precautions. In my small brain's opinion, this is reason to be extremely hopeful.
  15. I killed my youtubetv last night. Weather getting nice. Biying a fixer upper. No time. Need that 50 spot allocated somewhere else. Antenna and prime video it is.
  16. I find out tomorrow if the department is sending me to Lilly to get tested. Found out yesterday that a patient we went on at a Wal-Mart 11 days ago tested positive. I've shown no symptoms and my medic did most of the patient contact work but I was within 6 feet and doing the questioning. Came out as unconscious person, to find patient sitting up drinking juice, first thought is dibetic until she says flu like symptoms for 3-5 days with cough. Boom, put a mask on her. So at least we had that going for us to limit exposure.
  17. Surgeon general said this week not to panic as numbers go up because of more testing. The positive is mortality rates keep trending down.
  18. Easiest and currently trendiest would be the barn door for sure. If you don't have an existing pocket in the wall in place you will have to tear out and install one. Hindsight I wish I would have had a 3rd put in a certain spot where I didnt have room for a barn door and now it's just a tight area around a tub.
  19. I helped put 2 in my house. What are you trying to do?
  20. Excellent article and research. I've been sharing and talking about this a lot.
  21. There's my powder bath with a sort of similar marble. One of the firehouse's put one in and didn't seal or wax it and in 6 months it looked horrible.
  22. Oh, that marble will absorb water and turn color on you. An old trick is to use car wax about twice a year.
  23. That is awesome. I know the stress, thinking through how to do something. It's very rewarding in the end but very stressful. Here's my little shiplap wall. Just got the lights and mirror back on the wall and cleaned up.
