Sabonis leads the league at 38.2 mins per game. Brogdan is 3rd.

And, perhaps not coincidentally, in the second Raps game (the W), Bjorkgren employed the bench much more - not just due to Sabonis's absence either. Although I agree with posters in this thread that Goga has to get consistent developmental minutes.

But there are also guys like Sumner and Sampson who can be very effective as energy guys even in short spurts while buying the starters rest. Even with several front-line players out, I fear the long term consequences of not cutting minutes on these two players in particular.

I liked the way the Pacers were playing without Sabonis. They weren’t forcing it into him every possession and they were harder to guard plus it got Goga some minutes. The team is better with Sabonis but not when he forces things like he does at times. It could be a good thing if he was forced to play limited minutes for the next couple games because they have to start playing Goga some to develop him or he’ll end up another player then Pacers drafted and didn’t play at all.

So Sabonis MRI results showed no damage - listed as day to day. I see where you're coming from with this post. In the first Toronto game, prior to the injury, Raps clogged the lane when Domas got it in the post with double and even triple teams collapsing. I didn't think Pacers/Domas responded in kind to move ball to open players and beat those rotations.

I also thought Brogdon - after the 1st qtr - was also monopolizing possession with too much iso/p-n-r for eventual contested drives to the basket. I understand those two players have been our go-to guys thus far. They were both cold in addition, but it seemed like each - in their frustration - actually played into the defense's hands by forcing things/not recognizing and reacting appropriately.

Raps D deserves credit. Tough defensive scheme and talent. We handled it better in the second game. I thought Brogdon let the game come to him offensively more than in game one.

Rumor that TY Hilton might be gone. I’m thinking that Colts are going to trade their 1st round + and maybe add TY to the deal?

If I were Colts I'd definitely proceed w/caution on TY. Don't think the production is there any more for the money he will be looking for. It will be sad if he goes after all he's done for the franchise, but no chance whatsoever if he won't take a pay cut/reasonable deal. And Colts may be confident there's not enough left in the tank to re-sign at all.

  4. I would love to see Hendershot come back strong. Along with that all our TEs generally making a bigger impact in the passing game.

Personally, while I will take as good as a bowl game as we can earn, I'd take a bowl win of about any level. We just need to get that monkey off our back.

Also, more consistent pass rush from front 4. Don't know how realistic that is given talent level, especially DEs. Is there still room for development? Is there an up and comer amongst the underclassmen?

Now we are talking - have you listened to any Joel Ross (vibraphone) or Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet)? They are part of the new blood with Kasami. Joel Ross' recent album Kingmaker is incredible and so is Akinmusire's On the Tender Spot of Every Callused Moment. As much as I love classic jazz like bebop and the more spiritual late 60s and early 70s stuff, I think some of the new jazz is really breaking new ground. I also like how they seem to have a lot of overlap/collabs with hip hop artists.

No I have not. But will be sure to do so. Thanks for the tip!

One of the many articles I read...i dont recall which one...the other guys were drunk

What I see in the DNR report is Cox (?) one of the private property group saying he estimated he'd consumed a 12 pack that day prior to the altercation. So far haven't located any assertion as to whether Booker had been consuming beforehand.

I always thought the name "Redskins" was the only one that was obviously a slur...I'm amazed that name made it this long...

I know the "Indian" caricature of Chief Wahoo upset some people. 10-1 that name gets changed too...

The Braves and Chiefs seem to have the backing of some Native Americans and I personally don't see those names as disparaging in our lexicon...

But, I'm constantly surprised by The Church of the Perpetually Offended, so who knows...

I do think as historical side-note that this is karma at its best...The Redskins were the last NFL team to integrate, and their owner at that time, George Preston Marshall, was know throughout the league as a bigot. Use of a stadium, ironically later renamed RFK Stadium, forced that issue too...

I could understand Chief Wahoo being redesigned or replaced. In fact, I'd support it. Just find the drawing to cartoon-like and demeaning. And I know there was some substantial pressure from some Native American organizations and tribes a few years back that resulted in the team taking the logo off their uniforms.

It's definitely true that Native Americans are not a monolith and the other team names you mention surely have varying levels of acceptability or lack thereof in those communities. Very cursory reading I've done on it shows there have been some polling showing differing results about where Native Americans stand on them.

I just have a feeling that Booker isnt telling the whole story...keep in mind Booker drank a 12 pack of beer before he decided to come back and confront them a second time

Curious as I recall hearing about Booker taking beer to the gathering from one of the guys involved in the altercation/pining him to the tree. Something to the effect of the guy took Booker on his ATV to where the thing he was attending was and he gave him a beer as thanks for the ride. Where did you see this info? Some have suggested the other guys looked/acted drunk in the video as well.

I tend to give people the benefit of doubt initially...

Maybe it's the part of me that can't fathom why someone would want to be viewed as a victim in the current climate when the story is not true.

Is the 15 minutes of fame worth that price if the story turns out to be BS?

It's also incredibly risky to his activism and aspirations if what he alleges is false. I'm not convinced it's untrue, but the video itself never convinced me that it was. Defendants side - with what I know - is obviously plausible. Waiting for more developments in the situation.

If Booker hit Purdy 3 times like Purdy's attorney says, there had to be marks...

Also, Purdy's lawyer alleged that Purdy had actually given Booker a ride to the property line on his 4 wheeler...if there a pic or evidence of that, the Booker story gets shaky...

The issue here is that his story has been shaky from the outset. The lack of damning evidence on the video for racial comments and the entire context of the interaction did not inspire great confidence in Booker's allegations.

Listen to the Podcast of the Brink yesterday and they had Scott Agnes a Pacer reporter on the show.  He said behind the scenes that the Pacers are getting a little upset with some of the things that Vic has done over the last year and half. He did not go into detail but I think some has to do with Vic and his handlers are doing everything on their own and not consulting with the Pacers on any of his decisions.

Thanks for the heads up. Interesting listen. Personally, can't help but get a bit of a vibe to the beginning of the PG disassociation from the franchise. May not be legit, but the seeming disconnect between the organization and Dipo in terms of communication and thought process behind his decision making does worry me. Agness compared Dipo not notifying Pacers of his decision not to play in restart before announcing in media to Bradley Beal's, which was a joint announcement with the Wizards organization.

Victor will continue to practice in 5 on 5 in Orlando with the team for the remainder of the bubble season.  The belief right now according to sources close to the situation believe that if the Pacers make it past the first round that Victor will return in limited capacity.

Curious as to what source suggested him possibly returning if Pacers get past round 1?
