Just when you thought offense might be getting some rhythm, old swiss cheese protection raises its ugly head and makes you face reality.

Those 1 yard passes really stretch the field for us. Now for an overthrow of a wide open TE. 

Esiason hit it on the head during half time studio comments. Absolutely no speed at the WR position. Add that to the swiss cheese protection and uncomfortable, statuesque QB and...EEEEEEEEEEEW!

I'd put in Foles or Ehlinger 2nd half. But it probably won't matter. The protection is utter trash.

Between Reich's decisions and our pass game looking like it can't do anything but dink and dunk at best, can't see this team winning jack.

Pass protection sucks mightily. Defense needs to get the deep coverages fixed. Mistakes galore. Just sloppy football despite the injuries up front. I don't think there's a challenge to Bazelak. He needs better protection, better accuracy, and better decisions though.

Defensively, we're hemorrhaging big plays in the passing games.

I'm giving it a month. If the offense is still totally sucking, give Sam a shot. You can always bring the vet statues back after a week or two of Sam.

A win would be sensational. I would grudgingly, but contentedly accept us competing/looking like we belong on the field with UC (given opponent, on road, and how we've frankly been underwhelming in some key elements despite our record). The latter would instill some optimism that we can lock down a few more Ws against tough comp on remaining sched.

Peyton Manning's not walking through that door to salvage this clusterfu$k.

Won't make much difference, but going to have to try somebody else at QB just out of principle.
