  1. Edge is only a myth if you don’t have one. Sure we have WRs and LTs, they’re OK, but no difference makers… hence the record. I don’t think drafting Will Levis fixes this, but we’ll find out.
  2. Every team has talent. Unfortunately for the Colts, the talent ISN’T there at the most important positions. QB, WR1, EDGE, LT, etc…
  3. If we’re playing the woulda/coulda/shoulda game, the Colts could just as easily be 0-14. They barely beat the Jags, Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs, and it took a miracle comeback to tie the worst team in the league. Again- after 6 years, a GM is what his record says he is.
  4. Ballard has admitted himself that once a GM picks a QB high in the first round, that GM is on the clock.
  5. The GM is responsible for the roster. The roster is mediocre at best. It’s weak or average at all the most important spots. They’ve switched head coaches, fired the OC, switched QBs twice… a half dozen scapegoats later and the team is no better. The only legit excuse Ballard has is Irsay’s meddling. Which might be the reason he keeps his job… as potential replacements would be wary of working for an owner who is demanding QBs and coaches be replaced/benched during the season.
  6. As a GM, you are what your record says you are, especially after 6 years. He’s mediocre. Average. Decent. And maybe that’s good enough for Irsay.
  7. Highest paid O-Line in football, and it’s mediocre at best. No WR1, no stud EDGE, no QB. This disaster of a season is 90% Ballard’s fault.
  8. Uh what? He drafted, traded for, and/or handed huge contract extensions to all those guys. Of course it’s his fault the offensive line is massively overpaid. Handing Q a 4 year x $20 million a year contract with multiple recent surgeries was insane. Any GM who thought Pryor was a left tackle should be fired on the spot. That guy shouldn’t even be on the roster.
  9. I understand that. My point remains that he’s not as good as a rookie, as Glenn and Castonzo were at the same point. Neither of them were routinely getting shoved back into the QBs lap. And Raimann aside, this OL is an overpaid mess. And that’s all on Ballard.
  10. Castanzo didn’t get routinely overpowered like Raimann has.
  11. Agree. But I think Irsay will make Ballard draft a QB somewhere.
  12. The same thing happened to him on the fourth down against the Steelers . I mean, he’s not terrible, but let’s not act like he’s an elite left tackle like Costanzo or Glenn.
  13. Lots of meh/OK players there. No WR1 No stud edge No reliable LT(Raimann gets bullied routinely, see Steelers and Cowboys games) No lockdown corner (Gilmore is closest thing, and he was a free agent pickup) No QB No TE that can run block For an “elite” drafting GM in his 6th year, this is a meh roster. Look at Dallas. They are better in every single one of those areas. Lamb (drafted in 2020) Parsons (drafted in 2021) Tyler Smith(drafted in 2022) Diggs (drafted in 2020) Dak (drafted in 2016) 2 tight ends picked up this year that are better blockers than anyone the Colts have: Jake Ferguson from WI and Hendershot from IU.
  14. This is a great post. Ballard supposedly has a “high hit rate” in the draft, but it’s mostly on the least important positions: guard, tailback, WR2, LB, S, etc. Trade the older players like Buckner, Gilmore etc, for future draft picks, tank in 2023, draft Caleb Williams or Drake Maye in 2024.
  15. That sounds like a much better plan than what the Colts will probably end up doing.
  16. I’d say Raimann has been OK, but not sure he’s a starting LT. He’s just gotten overpowered more than you would like to see, especially when you have a statue at QB. But I do think he can be useful somewhere on the OL, especially with his rookie contract. The biggest mistake they could make would be to draft a QB just because Jimmy says so…
  17. I’d prefer a LT, but a stud edge would work too. Will Anderson?
  18. Ballard will probably just sit there and take another lineman.
  19. The question will be, will QB needy teams below the Colts put together huge offers to move up to 2 or 3? Like the Panthers ?
  20. I think they’ll be at 5 if the rams beat the packers tonite ?
  21. That play was about as dumb as the Colts fake punt against the Pats.
  22. Yuck. Boring. The only good thing is we could have used his coat to close off the south end of the stadium.
