  1. The official that was closest and made the call was behind and to the side of the Rutgers player. He would've seen the Purdue player take a swipe at the ball. It's not a surprising missed call. Remember, the officials don't always have as good of an angle as the cameras and vice versa. It happens.
  2. It was over and back but you're really going to complain about the only bad call that went against Purdue? The officials probably thought the same thing the announcers originally thought, that the Purdue player touched it.
  3. It's terrible and boring. About 11:30 left before either team broke 40 points.
  4. MSU is 3rd? They're 0-2 with one of those losses being to NW. They also gave up 91 points to Oakland less than 2 weeks ago.
  5. 6 seniors on their team. That kind of experience would help every year but even more so this year after all the interruptions during the off season. Those are seniors who know how to win and are used to it.
  6. Very scary. It can be fatal in athletes. Considering they put him in a medically induced coma, he must not have been doing very well the first few days. I hope he makes a complete recovery.
  7. Florida's Johnson released from hospital. Apparently it was myocarditis which caused him to collapse. It's been confirmedhe was one of the Florida players who caught COVID over the summer and COVID can cause that. There is no confirmation whether his condition was related to COVID, though. The Big Ten has more cardiac protocols in place than the SEC does, so hopefully any players who get COVID will be more protected. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/columnist/dan-wolken/2020/12/24/college-basketball-seeks-answers-keyontae-johnson-heart-condition/4040170001/
  8. No, you said "Losing out to Purdue on the best Indiana recruits? Since when? Not last year or the year before. " The answer to that is this year. That's the point. Recognizing that doesn't change or diminish the fact that IU beat them in recruiting the state the last 3 years. You guys make it seem that acknowledging the reality that not everything IU is going amazingly great is the same as saying everything IU is absolutely awful. It's not and there is a lot of room between extremes. I'm not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend IU has a better recruiting class than Purdue this year. Do so if it makes you feel better.
  9. If he had still reclassified but committed to another school I would've talked about how we missed on him last year. Since he was a 2020 recruit and all. But IU did land him and it made their recruiting class of 2020 even better. Maybe we should go ahead and award Lander as the 2021 Mr Basketball. But keep telling yourself whatever you need to to keep from having to face the reality that the 2021 recruiting class has been disappointing.
  10. Reclassifying means he changed his class so he was no longer a 2021 recruit. How can he possibly be a 2021 recruit when he's playing college in 2020? What if it was the reversed and instead of being a very good student who was able to graduate a year early he was a poor student so went to prep evil and reclassified to 2022? Should you still try to count him as a 2021 recruit? What if he skipped a year while in elementary or middle school instead of skipping his senior year of HS? Is he still a 2021 recruit instead of 2020? It's where the player finishes that determines which class he is considered to be a part of, nor where he starts. After reclassifying he was still the top recruit from Indiana in 2020.
  11. While I agree with a lot of what you're saying, I wouldn't include Wesley in that group. From many accounts IU stopped recruiting him well before his commitment.
  12. False. The best player who graduated in 2020 after reclassifying is on IU's roster. He was a 2020 recruit. There are no 2021 Indiana recruits on IU's roster.
  13. Lander is from Indiana but reclassified to 2020. At that point he was no longer a 2021 recruit, otherwise he'd still be in HS instead of playing for IU this year. That's how reclassifying works. True or false: IU has one HS senior committed to play for IU next year. True or false: That player is not Lander and is also not from Indiana. True or false: IU has 0 current Indiana seniors committed to play for IU next year. True or false: Purdue has commitments from Kaufman and Furst. True or false: Kaufman and Furst are the highest ranked current Indiana HS seniors.
  14. Kaufman and Furst are the best recruits in the state this year. IU lost them to Purdue and actually has 0 Indiana recruits this season. Lander was last year, TJD was the year before, and Romeo the year before that. The post being replied to said "since when?" Since this season with Kaufman and Furst is the answer to that. Not super complicated. Recognizing that Purdue did a better job of recruiting the state this year didn't diminish what IU did the previous 3 years but refusing to acknowledge it seems petty.
  15. Maybe read the post that was being responded to.
  16. He is a really good coach. I don't think he's cheating in the way of paying players or anything but I do think it's likely he's cheating in the sense of recruiting violations. He showed he doesn't think the rules apply to him and shouldn't have to follow rules he probably considers silly. When he was at IU he tried to disguise his breaking of the rules so it was intentional which shows he has no problem doing so.
  17. They were tied for 10th. Just seeded 11th in the B1GT. It's a minor distinction and probably pedantic on my part but a distinction that should be made. If they tied for 1st but ended up as the 2nd seed you wouldn't say they finished 2nd in the conference, would you?
  18. That sums up the IN '21 class pretty well. Furst dropped a bit nationally from where he was, as well, which didn't help the top of the class. He was in the 30s and ended up at 58. So instead of a top 10/15 player with Lander and 2 top 40 players at the top of the class, it's just 1 top 40 and 1 top 60.
  19. Florida's Keyontae Johnson is still in the hospital in critical but stable condition. Yesterday they woke him from a medically induced coma. I hope he makes a full recovery from whatever caused the collapse.
  20. Mark Cuban and the Mavs gave J.J. Barea a $2.6M one year deal right before releasing him as a thank you. Classy move.
  21. Instead of leaving 2 unused scholarships every year it wouldn't hurt to use 1 of those on a development player like this. If the player is ok being a development player and knows he won't see much playing time for a few years.
  22. I don't think it's Photoshop but there are certainly ways to manipulate before and after photos without using that and if you look at them that's what they're doing. Different lighting, camera angle, flex vs not flexing, before or after workout are a few ways to manipulate them.
  23. Right, he comes off as self-serving in that he only seemed to care about that after they lost a few games.
