  1. All the Woodson and Matta stuff was great. Solid watch, but any video that ends on “will sink the Biz survive Covid” is automatically elevated to must watch 😆
  2. Sounds like Lewis may be joining the staff after UCLA is done. Seems like Hunter is staying. Also of note seems like not all the players were at the meeting in person. Lander was not there, could have been virtually, don’t know.
  3. I think this is one thing I would completely disagree with. No one will ever convince me keeping Archie for another year was a good idea. It was not working at historically bad levels. I would take this current scenario over Archie staying every time.
  4. Living in Btown my wife and I know a few former players and their families. All the talk on here over the last few years is real. All the players have been clamoring for an “IU guy” that gets Indiana. Dolson just delivered what they have been asking for. I heard this was real possibility last week and I just blew it off as the same old same old, just like Steve Alford talk was when they hired Archie. I am still in shock about this. I truly thought Dolson had a big fish lined up. This is a license plate the hook.
  5. Players already making choices: https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/31146759/coveted-transfer-guard-tyson-walker-commits-michigan-state-spartans
  6. I know they are all hedging their bets and doing what is best for them but you can't help but be a little concerned when you see half the team in the portal. Just human nature.
  7. That's good to know. One kid opted out of IU but my next one I think will be heading there. Maybe we need some social influencers for IU sports, like TikTok videos, that's what the youngsters are hip to nowadays.
  8. Every student should get invited for a tour of Cook Hall by a former player. Look at all the history there, see the facility and then get to walk the tunnel to SSAH for a tour there. Just like what Beard did with his team, all IU students need to get exposed to this.
  9. I get that but that's a fact of life now at all universities. This isn't going away. IU is more closely a private school now as are most public schools. And to Iowa's point all the more reason to make sure these students get a taste for what IU basketball should be and can be.
  10. I would also lump the students into this. I dont think many have any idea what IU basketball truly was and what it should be. The whole atmosphere around IU basketball needs a revamp for them as well and most of what you listed above would help to educate and excite them as well. But i think it all starts with the coaching hire and can he be that key cog for all of this. Side note, since you mention equipment, I am still super disappointed they renovated SSAH instead of build something new. I know that's not popular but I think the program would have been better served with a new arena. Something unique that still held onto the best qualities of AH but brought the features of something like bankers life into the picture. Its all part of that vision you are trying to turn into reality. Time to get Adidas to step up their game as well. Diversify the uniforms more, offer better and unique gear to fans, its all intertwined. Best IU gear I have found is not from Adidas or fanatics, but from sites like Home Field Apparel. Its all part of it.
  11. I dont disagree, more stating this could be the new norm. Also wonder if in a normal year with a coach in place how many would be going in. Honestly if i was not the team start or thought i may not be used to my full potential i would look at my options. My unfortunate comment was more around us fans having to grab more Tums at the though of losing players we like lol.
  12. Unfortunately this could start to be a yearly occurrence. Its NCAA version of free agency. You essentially are going to have to re-recruit your entire team at this point if they long term let players transfer easily long term.
  13. Looks like IU got their first 2022 guy today: https://www.hoosiersportsreport.com/2021/03/arkansas-lb-kaiden-turner-becomes-ius-first-commit-for-2022/
  14. I wouldn’t be surprised if Irving is off their books in the near future. The way he is acting I have read a few articles that his contract could be voided if he continues down the path he is on. If I was the Nets and KD said he was good with it I would cut KD the moment a lawyer said we could.
  15. I always thought the Hoboken Raiders would have a nice ring to it.
  16. Interesting PR move being proposed by the NFL to have vaccinated Health Care workers get invited to the Super Bowl. But to me not just a PR move but a great way to make sure the game is full of fans which I think would be cool after all this chaos.
  17. I like to think that grease came from Bacon 🥓.
  18. Update, took about an hour but just got the email. A little longer than expected but I am good 😊
  19. So I am trying to log in on my computer as a normally use my phone for this site. No idea what my password is so I clicked password reset and it said an email was being sent but it’s been a while and still nothing in my inbox or spam folder. Any idea how long it usually takes to get the password reset email? could also be work email firewall slowing things down but thought I would ask, thanks!
  20. While I understand your points it’s not just about local market, heck I would say that’s small potatoes. These players will make tons of cash off Instagram and Twitter posts. The way IU has it setup with this company they literally see how much money they will make based on the media platform they post on which is based off followers and over social media score. The UK players will make gobs of cash off things like this.
  21. I will be really interested to see what a star player at IU will make on average per year/month when NIL starts and how that compares to other top programs across the country and in the BIG. It will be hard to get top dollar like some players at Duke or Kentucky but it will be important to show you can come to IU and make top money in the BIG and that multiple opportunities will be out there to do so. While I get we all don’t want someone that’s about me and making money these young men will have various reasons from brand building to literally needing to support their family that revenue generation will be key. Playing solidly this year will tie directly into potential income the next year when this starts. I think this will be a huge factor towards recruiting in the future.
  22. I have not been there this year for obvious reasons but last couple years it was full of young millennials behind the bar and customer wise.
  23. I got a few hundred wings for my IU football tailgate at my house this weekend. So good!
  24. Time for a winner take all battle royal! There can be only one!
  25. I don’t think in the late 90’s the majority of the gen X went to the Vid, can’t say that’s the same now for gen Z. We went there because it wasn’t frequented by gen X and we didn’t want to deal with Kilroys but also didn’t want to go somewhere like the office lounge. It skewed older back then but sure doesn’t feel that way now.
