  1. Estero is a great area and FGCU is a great campus to be next to.
  2. While I wouldn’t mind getting Brooks at IU until I see his name in the portal I’m ignoring any chatter about him coming to IU personally. I would prefer he show some signs he actually wants to be at IU first, or if the rumors are true step out of his dad’s shadow and make decisions for himself. Whether that’s stay at UK or go to IU. For now, while I miss ketchup, I’m happy with my move to Mustard(preferably Belgian).
  3. I think he is pointing out having two bodies already here would allow for more hands on deck faster. Hunter and Robert’s are both already in town and know the landscape of IU basketball presently and can help get things going faster.

  5. It would be nice if we all as fans could accept some will like the hire, some won't, and just all settle on letting this guy actually come in and maybe do his job for a few days before passing final judgement either way. Maybe let him: Stop the players he can from transferring Finish his coaching staff Get players to transfer in Get some recruits Maybe coach a few games or two And thats just the small list. I am a big picture kind of guys so to me let's give coach some space either way, like it or not, to do his job.
  6. Honestly i would think this account will be run by multiple people, not just Mike, in this day and age a social media marketing person should be making sure this account stays hot and fresh with posts all the time.
  7. Side note: BTN totally sucked me in to the BIG Moment about the Wat shot after the presser. Well played BTN, well played.
  8. Dolson is two years older than Matta yet looks about 10 years younger lol
  9. Do the players fit your system or do you want to craft a system to the current players strength: I have to assess and watch more film, speak to them and get their feelings on the past season. Decisions need to be make if they decide to leave. If the leave build a plan B and go into the portal. My own comments: I think this could have been answered better. This has long been my issue, the last couple coaches didn't adjust to their players strengths. Need a fluid offense IMO that fits the players strengths while keeping a core concept that coach wants to implement. Last few coaches have been to rigid on styles, need more flexibility here.
  10. Vision for style on offense and defense: When i look at college basketball they are taking things from the NBA to college. A lot of 3/4 and zone D. Shooting the three on offense. I think i can bring a defensive system where players can play 3-4 positions, if you did switch defensively you felt good about them guarding the ball, and players committed to rebounding. Work hard to defend the ball or a break down. Rebound as a unit. Offensively, the three ball has changed the game. Gotta recruit players that can shoot and make plays for each other. Offense where everyone touches the basketball. If you can't shoot you better be able to do other things to help us win games. Cant just live on shooting threes.
  11. Did you know that well before this and how will you work with him going forward: Watched Thad from afar. First time getting to sit with him. Always admired him and he can do nothing but help me build this team into a solid basketball team.
  12. Why is it important to have former players be a part of the program: When Coach Knight was there all players came back every year for a reunion. Those days are coming back. Those players should never be forgotten. Bridge the gap that needed to be repaired with young players.
  13. I have staff in mind. Going to sit with Scott and Thad and assess the coach options. Just showed a picture of Thad at the conference.
  14. I believe I can go into a kids home and be able to relate with what i have gone through in my career. I have a story to tell and i can tell that story and get them to come to IU.
  15. Are you concerned about your lack of college experience: Not at all, basketball is basketball. I have coached at the highest level and some of the greatest players in the basketball world. Yes, there will be some challenges coming back to coach at IU but at the end of the day coaching is coaching. Going to recruit quality student athletes but will try to surround himself with people to help navigate the challenges. At the end of the day he has to put a product out on the floor Hoosier fans will love.
  16. I was always glued to Indiana basketball and that will never change.
  17. Will meet with each player individually today. See where their heart and minds are. Going to talk to them about getting the program back in the right direction and thats on top.
  18. This whole program is going to be about family. Told this to the players last night. Going to get the players where they need to go and get them to where IU basketball needs to go.
  19. He is going to bridge the gap between the old and the new.
  20. You see the weight of what he just accomplished is setting in. Not in a bad way but a good way.
  21. If you are interested in Mike Woodson you get on a plane and come see me or i come to you, love it!
  22. I can't lie, I am getting some chills here with him talking about coach Knight
