Outside of message boards and social media. There’s a massive divide right now internally. Woodson has to step down. We could be looking at 10 wins next year if there’s not a change.

No chance that egotistical maniac willing steps down. He's the greatest coach alive. He can fix it! Just don't ask him how, because he hasn't figured it out yet. Still needs to conference with Whitman and Armond.

It’s definitely the BOT wanting to play safe and not hire someone with violations again. But be patient, since that was DC said and see how this plays out. There is likely support for Pearl, just need a few more Trustees to flip.

100% accurate. Dolson still has time to try and swing some money/supporters. Just as of this moment, May would be the choice.

Well, last time I was posting here people lost their minds because I was wrong on Boogie (sorry. but in reality, woodson screwed up w/ boogie. he was ours.............)

As far as I know Woodson will prob step down after the BTT. It'll be "mutual". I had doubts a few weeks ago that we were "in talks" with Pearl, but it seems like there really is something going on. Pearl would turn this program around fast. Theres just a few "in charge" that have a problem w/ Pearls past.

Woody is a dead man walking.

First, I agree, Boogie was IUs but Woodson's love of doing nothing cost us.

Just for clarity, are you basing the step down/mutual parting is what you are hearing from some of your people or that is just a gut thought?

I agree with you on Pearl, I'd love to have him here but some I have also heard don't like his past (which is insane to continue that form of thinking in 2024 when we pay college basketball players with no accountability or monitoring on that front).

BTown Banners is still a thing?

I'd love to hear your take on this, other than your cryptic picture (which I enjoy as well).

This is not a sarcastic tone either, genuinely curious as to your thoughts/anything you're hearing that leads you to lean one way or the other.

First I've heard of this tweeter...

The replies are pretty good too where he answers some questions. More than a few hundred followers like some people who try to spew stuff online.

  6. Did a little research comparing who some believe to be the top 2 choices IF a change is made with the HC at IU.

Cronin over his last 8 seasons (5 @ UCLA, 3 @ Cincy): Average rankings via Bart Torvik
    T-Rank (similar as a KenPom rating): 31
    Adj. O Rating: 46
    Adj. D Rating: 34

Pearl over his last 8 seasons at Auburn: Average rankings via Bart Torvik
    T-Rank: 33
    Adj. O Rating: 31
    Adj. D Rating: 57

For fun, IU over those same 8 seasons (Woody 3, Miller 4, Crean 1): Average rankings via Bart Torvik
    T-Rank: 52
    Adj. O Rating: 70
    Adj. D Rating: 50

I will say, I was one who argued against Cronin as the top option because of his offensive systems. Looks like he has been actually rather good on that side of the ball overall the last 8 seasons. If you take out this season, which has been an anomaly for him (he didn't have an O rating higher than 56), his O Rating jumps to 31.

I am firmly in the camp that a change is almost necessary at this point to save us from the depths of college basketball that IUFB has been in for so long on their side, but I was exclusively only wanting Pearl. Now, give me Pearl or Cronin.

probably Calbert and Jordy lol. In all honesty I’d guess Evans and other than that I’m not sure but he seems like an obvious guess

Just as a follow up, some on Peegs were asking if it was 2 or closer to 10. Rabby responded by saying “I get the very strong vibe it is well north of 10.”

That Woody does less with more than any coach in the B1G and it isn't even close.  He's by far the worst coach in the B1G.  It is not close.  Archie was a lot better.

Had a buddy ask me if I would choose Woody over any other current coaches in the Big Ten. I couldn't think of one.

  9. Woodson's quotes just now in his presser were absolutely pathetic. This one especially:

“It would have been nice to have Xavier Johnson. … Every year I’ve coached, when things don’t go well, I point the finger at me.”

Woodson says he doesn’t blame the players and adds, “but I don’t miss wide open shots. I don’t miss free throws.”

If random people on a message board know this Pearl stuff, then of course Woodson knows. So he already knows his fate? I don’t buy it. I don’t care who “trilly” is, there’s no way that Dolson reached out. Unless woody is okay with it and said he’s stepping down. Which I highly doubt.

Maybe it is semantics but it could have all happened without Dolson doing it himself. Agents, contacts, third-wheel type people, etc. Dolson and Pearl (or any coach) can have a conversation without actually speaking to one another and allows both plausible deniability when questioned.

  11. Back on portal options.....

Tyrin Lawrence. 6-4 195. No clue if IU has reached out or not.

Put his name in the draft. No combine invite. Finished his junior year at Vandy.

Averaged 13 pts on 48% from the field. Shot 36% from 3. 74% from the line.

Bring him in, play him alongside X. Both could play the 1 or 2 easily.

Develop him into a draft pick and hang your hat on it to the HS recruits.

Imagine the recruiting cred they could build by bringing in him, Ware, and Mgbako into the program and getting them all drafted in the same year. Wow. 3 different back stories coming from different points in their careers, to NBA draft picks thanks to IU and their development.
