It's all @rico fault for bringing up Alford as a candidate. Scared to living sheet out of the BOT embers that were on the fence.

I truly hope all 3 of MgBako, Reneau, and Galloway return. If they do, we could be decent. if they don't, it's going to be a tough season. I will be surprised if we have any significant success in the portal. Abd, McNeeley is our only incoming high school recruit.

If Reneau, MgBako, and Galloway leave, it's going to be a very difficult season (I'm assuming Ware is gone). I just have serious doubts we will make significant inroads in the portal.

It will be another interesting 12 months.

Given the choice of a roster full of kids that are playing for IU to get NIL money, or a roster full of kids that want to play for Bruce Pearl because they personally like him and the system he plays, I'll take the latter group every single time, and I'll take it some more when I'm not given the choice. I don't want a roster full of guys that are here for NIL. It should be the tie-breaker, not the #1 reason. May simply is not going to straight up recruit at the level of Pearl, nor will he excite the fan base as much as Pearl.

The bigger question is what his ability is to build a roster from scratch. That's a possibility regardless of who the new coach is. In that contest, I choose Bruce Pearl.

The roster after the season may look similar to what Crean faced Year 1. In my opinion, that's too big of a job for May. It needs to be Pearl unless fans are willing to be patient for someone else to get their footing, which is a tall ask at this point.

This might be the most rational post ever on HSN.

If Pearl tells IU no thanks, this has the possibility to worse than the Stevens debacle.
