  1. I've been busy this week with work, dealing with a kidney stone, and getting kids where they need to be, so I've not kept up with actual news reports on this. So, I have to ask whether the things getting posted here about how poorly it is going from Russia are from reputable and balanced news sources (if there is such a thing) or from partisan and/or sensationalized news sources?
  2. My whole point on Al is when people say he can't be a starter on a championship quality team. He absolutely can be a major contributor on a conference championship team, and he is proving that this year. He just happened to play his first four years on a dysfunctional team with subpar coaching.
  3. I believe they have won the Big East regular season title.
  4. Well, Providence seems to be perfectly happy with our requirement that a player must be perfect to wear candy stripes.
  5. If this is true, then maybe, just maybe, Coach Woodson miscalculated. Say whatever you want about Al, but the below are facts: The team he went to was 13-13 last year and is 24-3 this year. He hasn't gotten his ass suspended for 1.5 games this season His PER is 13.1. Parker Stewart's is 8.8. Al's PER, while not strong, would be 5th best on IU behind Trayce, Race, XJ, and Geronimo (I'm not counting Duncomb). Those are the facts. My opinion is that we would be a better team with Al. At the very least, he doesn't get suspended at Northwestern, we likely win that game, and we aren't sitting here worried about being on the bubble.
  6. He should quit basketball and become a gymnast.
  7. I agree with you. I love Al. All I am saying is he found a better environment to win.
  8. He is scoring in double figures and he does shoot a lot of free throws. But, his percentages and overall efficiency are not good.
  9. I've watched quite a bit of Providence this year. Al really has not had a great year statistically, but he plays 35 minutes a game. He seems much more relaxed and that whole group just plays so well as a team. Ed Cooley is an excellent coach.
  10. Has Brady formally sent in his retirement papers?
  11. I never was a fan of Ewing's game. But, I did enjoy watching Hakeem and McHale.
  12. Here's a scouting video of a big man playing the time of game you reference. Not sure where he plays high school ball, but maybe IU should look at him.
  13. I've not read through other threads, but am surprised this has not resulted in more discussion on the board.
  14. Russell Wilson is 34 years old and played his entire career in the same system. Colts would be crazy to give up 2 first round picks plus others to get him.
  15. You know how much I would like that to happen. But, that's a longshot.
  16. If the lockout extends into the season, I will convert this to a Cricket thread.
  17. It's a new year. We may or may not have baseball. But, just in case, let's get a new thread going.
  18. In 1941, the year of the 56 game hit streak and the .400 average, Dimaggio struck out 13 times, and Williams 27. That 13 number is almost unbelievable when compared to the game today. That's literally an average week for some of these guys.
  19. We do not get in with 13 losses unless we make a run to the semis of the BTT. And, even in that scenario, you are at the mercy of conference tournament upsets. In order to avoid 13 losses, we have to win 2 of our last 3 regular season games. The regular season loss is #11 and the BTT loss is #12. 12 loss at-large teams happen every year. 13 loss at-large teams do not.
  20. We can't be accused of being too narrowly focused. I present to you three consecutive posts in a post-game thread after a big win.
  21. Here, at HSN, we pride ourselves on rarely having a point in any thread/discussion
