You're just mad at the state of the program.

All I know to do is to tell my nephew who turns 7 this summer that Indiana WILL make the tournament sometime before he graduates college.

Big Ten officiating is bad. But Indiana basketball is far worse. Send an email to the school president while youre at it explaining to her how bad our basketball program is. Like, historically bad over these last six years. Mansplain it if you have to. Forget Dolson. He had his chance and picked the Charlie Brown tree that the other kids laughed at. Ask her to call Kentucky's leadership and ask them for some help in creating a basketball program that refuses anything less than excellence.

Let's go! We can do it!

Notre Dame refuses to lower academic standards. That's one of the reasons why Kelly left. He couldn't get the SEC low academic athletes. But they got really good leadership from the top down and rebuilt a great program.

I think they do. They just don't know how in this day and age. Notre Dame finally got the right guy in Jack Swarbrick. The way the football program now operates is night and day from before. They have played for three national championships since 2012. And they even got into a bit of trouble with a few kids not writing their own papers. Did they blow up the entire freaking football program? No. They cleaned it up on that part and basically told the NCAA that they would never turn themselves in again and would handle it in house. Mind you, this was when the UNC scandal was going on. They were considered dead and irrelevant. They got real. They got serious. This gives me hope that Indiana may one day.

I know. Same with Tom Landry. But they weren't 63 either.

I do but who brought those players in? Bring in guys who can shoot the ball better than I do in the B gym during lunch in high school.

And not just the best players, but the best coaches, compliance and academic support. From day one, Calipari and UK had everyone on the same page to allow him to do whatever it took to win without blatantly cheating. Their compliance helps them navigate the rules, not play gotcha with them. We could have had him or several other really good coaches. But indiana doesn't want to do that. They don't want to do what it takes these. You have Universities telling the NCAA and the Freaking FBI to eff off and we are blowing up the program over a phone call. You can't win that way.

Ok but he has had 30 games now. They are getting worse, not better. How long does it take to build a team that can win at home against Rutgers on senior night? He has an all american for Pete's sake. And yes, it does bother me to see my team as a laughing stock.

We have the talent to make the freaking tourney. We aren't even a top half team in the B1G. Listening to The Assembly Call, they are right. The entire framework of the program HAS to change drastically. Three different coaches over six years not making the tourney. That is ridiculous and unacceptable with the resources at their disposal. Indiana should make the tourney EVERY year. It's hard NOT to make the tourney, let alone 6 years straight. I'm not trolling, I'm speaking truth. Purdue trolls don't spend hours listening to The Assembly Call and Hoosier Hysterics I don't know what you do. It's deeper than the coaches. It's deeper than the players.

I am an Indiana fan. I'm just disgusted at the ineptness of our administration, athletic department, coaching staffs and teams over the last 25 years. And look at our AD's first season. A major reach of a coaching hire who was probably plan F or G, a putrid football team and a basketball team that is about to miss the tourney for 6 straight years. Honestly, you couldn't try to be worse at these two sports than our school has. It's embarrassing what the nation thinks of us.

Yeah it's bad. Real bad. We aren't even mediocre. We are a bad program.

Woody isn't lasting 6-8 years if he's not making tourneys. This year is a no. Next year, yikes. I think he may have been a place holder hire because Dolson whiffed on everybody else. If not, then I agree with Aaron Torres in that was just an embarrassing. 'we've given up on the program' hire.

He's not wrong. I don't know what you do. The program is just dead and isn't coming back any time soon. Our last two hires by two different AD's were just brutal. 6 years without going to the tourney. That's just staggering and frankly, almost impossible to do for a B1G team.

No but the problem may be more the fans/alumni/boosters etc. at this point. The administration has certainly been terrible as well. However, they are told that they must hire a magical unicorn coach who is as pure as the driven snow, farts glitter, spotless on and off the court AND is as good of an X's and O's coach as Knight in his prime. He doesn't exist. Stevens was the closest but the Celtics decided that they wanted to marry him. Sampson is a great coach. I guess his players go to class now? What is it about indiana that players go there and just stink it up for spotless coaches, and flunk out for coaches who aren't spotless?

Pitino had Iona going after one year. We just need a special coach. Not a feel good coach. We still haven't hired a decent coach Knight was fired. Not one.

I really think the program is dead. It's going to take a big name coach to resurrect it. We came close but missed this last time around.

Just going to have to get better. One game at a time. One season at a time.

Notre Dame is now seen as a place to get promoted. Mike Elko Clark Lea Marcus Freeman Lance Taylor(rb coach) John McNulty They have all become head coaches or coordinators recently from that program. This probably is a big reason.

Winning comfortably on the road? Heck yes!
