Drroogh
The article covers most aspects. Lots to work out but what caught my eye was it would be in the face of both the NCAA and ESPN!
IUFLA
I'm sure as long as Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Peters can't get in, Purdue will vote for it 🙂
DWB
Seems to me like the NCAA would not sanction this, as it directly competes with their NIT. Having organized tournaments outside of season rules (if NCAA won't allow it) wouldn't seem likely for fear of reprisals. But I'm all for it at this point. Too many good teams get left out of post season play against non-conf competition.
Reacher
I'm not watching many NIT games. In a tournament like this, where there is more familiarity with the teams, I'd likely watch more. Plus, the teams would likely be evenly talented resulting in some entertaining games.

Parakeet Jones
How long until they try to acquire the financial backing to make this “the” tournament?

I'm guessing that message has been sent loud and clear. The NCAA will control March Madness until the P2-3 take that away as well. They just need to get the ACC to kick ESPN to the curb and it pretty much would be
