No more recruiting which means no more cash bag deals. Colleges have a draft to acquire their athletes. A draft would first require athletes to be considered employees and paid directly by the schools, then it’d require the athletes to unionize, then it’d need to be agreed upon through a collective bargaining agreement. That’s extremely unlikely, or at least a very long ways away.

It requires unionization because it violates antitrust laws if it’s not collectively negotiated. If there weren’t so much money in sports like it was 80+ years ago, leagues could probably get away with it. But the leagues you reference have agreed to drafts with their respective players unions for the last 75 years or so. Implementing a draft without a CBA is a great way for schools to get sued into oblivion.
Seeking6
Will throw this in here. Can't wait for the day when players collectively bargain how many sprints they can run in a practice. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/how-a-ruling-that-dartmouth-basketball-players-are-school-employees-can-join-union-may-change-college-sports/
mrflynn03
Everything has an equal and opposite reaction. The harder these kids push now the harder it's gonna bite them in the ass when the pendulum swings back around.
