And it’s the only one that has the channels for March madness too

That depends, I watched the tournament on paramount plus which streams CBS.  Will they do it this season, I don't know.

If they made enough money, which I'm sure they did, it gives us multiple options.

But anyway, at least we have multiple options.

Just received an email, Disney is back on YouTube TV

Same here. What a surprise. The back and forth chess game that these ultra wealthy companies play is very annoying. It seems as if I am seeing warnings about content being dropped from some platform on a regular basis. I wish they all would just grow up!

Glad this got resolved because Hulu isn't an option for me.  YTTV allows me to stream at home and at the office a few miles apart.  Fewer concurrent streams, but Hulu's tight single location was a dealbreaker for me.

I also prefer the ability to organize my channels on YTTV and the DVR features are better....fast forwarding commercials and basically unlimited DVR...has some downsides with price but unfortunately my wife has very specialized taste in shows and requires either Hulu or YTTV basically.

Still appear to be some glitches on YTTV re: restoring ABC/ESPN channels.  None of these channels show in my channel guide, but the MNF game on ESPN was listed as a suggestion for me on the home page and I could watch it when I clicked on it.  Just strange.  Hope this gets fixed soon.  It's been a week now.

Disney owns Hulu, they are in no hurry.

So can you Fast-Forward through commercials if you are watching IUBB on BTN? As in during the actual game but you paused the game at tip-off and started it 10 minutes behind, can you skip commercials then?

My understanding is the only way to skip ads nowadays is a DirecTV/cable provider- I hope I'm wrong!

I have Hulu, and I used to "record" the IU game on Hulu DVR, then start watching the game (on the DVR recorded version) about 10 minutes after tip so I could FF through commercials... but now Hulu not only doesn't allow that (I don't think I can FF commercials until the next day or?), it instead will sometimes glitch backwards (like from 2:09 to go i n the game back to 11:20 left in the game... and THEN will still force me to watch each ad block after the 11:20 point of the broadcast.

It is hard to explain but incredibly frustrating-so I'd like to be DONE with Hulu but am not unsure where to go next?

I will try it again tonight....but yes I believe the answer to what you are saying is correct. For instance if I'm late starting the IU football game I have the option to fast-forward to a live stream (if I play the recording one/not the live feed). It even has the option to start back in where the game is currently and allows you to "catch up through big plays" and shows highlights up to the live feed. I haven't messed with it a ton but I'm pretty sure it will do what you are asking. I know for certain after a show has aired you can fast forward for sure when you go "on demand"....for instance my wife watches 90 day fiance and doesn't like some of the couples and will fast forward to the ones she likes.

Here is what it says....

Live TV. You can't fast forward through ads while watching live TV. If you pause a show, you can fast forward through ads until you catch up to the live version of the program.

I will say...$65 to cut the cord though isn't really helping save much money anymore over cable....in reference to Youtube TV. Same with HULU when I had it. It went up from $50 to $65 during COVID....thank you big corporate America lol. Guess all the people stuck at home streaming was just too good to pass up...nice 30% price increase.....but we got like MTV 2 and some other crap no one ever asked for....so 👍

Thanks Dgambill! I also researched/reddited it since I posted and yes, YTTV is the only platform that will allow FF through commercials during "pending" programs, such as IUFB IUBB.

I just switched.

You're also correct that $65/mo. is not really a better deal. But with DirecTV I was getting hammered at $200/mo with the boxes, additional rooms, etc... and their customer service wasn't great.

Thanks- Happy New Year and Go IU!

Definitely beats that! Yeah after the initial contract is up cable/satilite can get real pricey...especially with rental fees for boxes etc. None of that as long as your tvs are smart...and if you have one that isn't a cheap roku stick works great. Biggest issue is if you have a tv very far away from your router but a wifi repeater helps too or you don't have good bandwith from your internet provider. Some do throttle back at peak times but I'm ok where I'm at. I like that you can organize the channels so I put all the sports ones/news together and all the channels we commonly watch at the top. I think HULU does a better job with movies but overall yttv has been the better streaming option for me and more consistent service with fewer bugs/issues. Enjoy!!

The only benefits to cutting the cord anymore is no contract to sign, other then that it isn't much better then cable.

Yeah...sadly getting there. With Comcast my bill when I finally ended the contract was like $189...no I have internet for $60 and TV for $65....so about $50 maybe once taxes are added in. Sad I know! If you are fortunate enough to have multiple cable/internet providers in your area the competition can help...but with none (like most people) it skyrockets after the initial year contract.

For me, it's still a lot cheaper and more reliable.  I'd have internet anyway, so I don't really consider that as a cost of streaming.  Better yet, I can stream under the same account at home and at the office.  The office pays for the streaming service so it's a deduction as well.

Was related to me having a custom channel lineup.  Once I reset it to the default channel listing, all of my channels showed up.

I tried to customize my YTTV channels online; however, the tv does not recognize it and it is set to the standard format.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Time to fire YouTube TV back up again. 15 of the 18 conference games on cable....no other choice.

If you're trying to save 20 or so dollars the cheapest way to do this is to get, can't remember exactly if it's just the orange sling package or the blue sling package, and then add the regional sports for an extra 10 bucks and then you're looking at 35 or $45 total.

Thanks! I'll look at that today before deciding...only reason I keep going back to YouTube is because all the extra channels with NFL,etc...but I can never pass up NYD view of the Rose Bowl on the big screen and of course our Hoosiers tomorrow.
