Hoosier Hysteria

I've never been to HH or MM. I'm curious as to the "format" that Archie uses. Is it a practice scrimmage with a little show-boating allowed, or is it purely entertainment for the fans and recruits?

Do any of the past players show up for it?

Couple of years ago, I saw where Arch "escorted" recruits to their seats, via a mid court walk. Don't think that happened last year. Anybody know why? As long as he doesn't announce them on the PA system, or talk about them publicly, I can't see a problem with taking whatever route he wants to get them to their seats...

I seem to recall another of those stupid and arcane NCAA rules that you can't do anything to draw attention to the guest recruits.  Surprised the NCAA doesn't require they wear paper sacks over their hands so they remain completely anonymous.  Did I mention the NCAA is stupid?

I haven't been in years.  I think the whole thing became a joke once they put the women's team in it which was the bright idea of Mike Davis I believe.  They should do the men's on one night and the women's on another.

I have been to well over 20 of these and I don't see a problem with the women being involved at all.  All they do is do a 3 point contest and a two ball contest with one of the men's player.  As for how Archie handles HH it is way more toned down and not much of a show like it was under Crean.  I went when RMK was still the coach and it was actually at midnight and RMK actually just had a normal practice.

I have a six year old who isn’t going to stand in line for hours. How late can I arrive and still be in the main level?

On a normal year like this one I would get there at least and hour and half before doors open.  The 2012-13 season was the only season I could not sit in the main level and had to sit in the balcony

Translation.  The six year old really doesn't care, but Parakeet doesn't want to stand in line and is using the kid as an excuse.  :coffee:

If I’m being honest, I could do without the women’s team stuff. I get why the university does it, but 98% of the crowd isn’t there to see the women’s team.

I actually much prefer CAM’s version of it to Creans. Much more direct and to the point. More substance, less fluff.

I could be mistaken, but I believe we got minor penalties for walking recruits across the floor two years ago.

Oh he wants to go.  It's just that multiple hours of the standing in live equivalent of, "are we there yet?" just doesn't sound too fun.

Mr. Glass should open up Knothole Park.  For little keet, and others his age who would get bored standing in line.  Mom could hold place in line. While dad and kid burn energy  at the park.  WIn, win, win situation for the whole family.

Mom might disagree with you.
