Is there another institution that would effectively give its iconic athletic program the equivalent of the death penalty based on an intern's review of phone records?

I know someone fairly high up with reliable inside information to that era.  Someone on a committee, who heard a lot.

There were woke people at IU in positions of power who hated sports, and IU basketball in particular.  They took great joy in the damage caused.

There was more than one person in the compliance department who thought it was his/her job to aggressively seek out infractions.  Not protect the university, as is the case everywhere else.

Combine that with weak leadership at the time, and it's easier to see how it happened.

There was definitely a got ya mentality within our compliance department that was instructed to act that way. Shoot it still existed up until end of Crean's tenure. Just glad almost all of those folks are gone.

At least now we have an AD and more importantly a President who values not only a harmonious relationship athletics and academics should have but how both can thrive from the $ sports generates. Purdue's had it under Mitch. Just glad we found ourselves a leader who understands it as well.

Lots of truth in this. The lingering effects are still there.

Sometimes there's a price to keep your integrity intact...

We lack/lacked integrity just as much as everyone else.  Only IUBB fans give a hoot about this crap and that shows in these rulings.

Self 4 games? Miller got nothing. What did Louisville get? Cmon. They don't care, we shouldn't either.

So, do you think Mike Woodson lacks integrity?
