You watch though...When March rolls around... "The NCAA announced today that they will be taking new metrics into account to calculate the NET ratings they use to select teams for the NCAA Tournament. Prior championships, creative recruiting tactics, and the amount of grease in the coach's hair will now all be factored into the rankings..."8 points

Last Monday, 6 hours before returning to ASU, my daughter totalled my wifes Toyota Highlander. It was not her fault and no one was hurt. The Toyota was paid for and we anticipated keeping for at least another 5 years as it fit our needs and has always been reliable. All of a sudden, we needed a plan B. Since we go to MI many weekends in the summer, we needed something big enough for my German Shepherds crate in the back and the mother in law (she doesn't need a crate anymore ). I would have liked an electric but the ones out now (Tesla Y, Mustang Mach E) aren't big enough. There are roughly 25 3rd row SUV models out there so time for some research. I start with Motor Trend, Car and Driver, US News and World Report reviews. Toyota was generally around 5th or lower with the Honda Pilot close by. At the top were Kia, Mazda, Hyundai, Subaru and VW. Spent a couple evenings last week doing test drives. I liked the Mazda but my wife thought the seats were uncomfortable. I thought the Subaru would be a good combination of safety, technology, winter driving, comfort, resale, etc but she couldn't stand the turbo whine from the 4 cyl. A week ago I never thought I'd be a Kia owner, but the Kia had the best combination of luxury, safety, driving features, technology, 100k mile warranty, above average reliability?? and my wife like the way they looked. Only issue was they are relatively new and in high demand so hardly any are available and couldn't get our exact choice of preferred options. Dealer had one coming in the following day so we jumped on it as it was mostly what we wanted. There is an eco driving mode for the wife and a sport mode for me . So there I was, last Thursday evening, buying a KIA Telluride during the IU game while following the play by play on espn and trying to keep up on the game thread. We have only had it a few days but we both like it so far. My wife was amazed she gets text messages on her phone if the doors are left unlocked. I had it waxed and a ceramic sealant put on yesterday to protect it from the snow coming tomorrow. The color is kind of cool. Very little metallic in it and depending on lighting can look white, silver or gray.7 points

Martelli is a great head coach in an assistant's role, but he doesn't have an assistant's typical responsibilities. I took this snippet from an article: Looks like a win win for both parties. Props to Michigan for making this happen and finding Howard a great mentor who is humble enough to sit in the background.6 points

Probably time for Coach K to suspend the season for "Covid precautions".5 points

If things go as I expect, those last couple of first rounders the Rockets get from Brooklyn will be lottery picks.4 points

At worst this is a lateral move for Indy, at best I think they just got better. Don't get me wrong, I love Oladipo, but Lavert is a really, really good player who just keeps getting better.4 points

i often wonder if Harden hates his beard. He has had to wear it for so long now because its his trademake. Like does he wake up and and look at himself in the mirror and tell his beard how much he hates him and threatens to shave it off. Then just cries a little to himself and gets ready for the day3 points

I honestly can't believe Brooklyn traded all of their draft picks again to give themselves a short window.3 points

He's got all-star potential, but I wouldn't call him that yet until he does it. But yes, a younger version of Oladipo on a much better deal, and probably someone that will be excited about the opportunity with the Pacers.3 points

I know no one else will feel this way but I feel sorry for Brooks. Kid just doesn’t fit in there. He is team oriented and seems to be a nice kid. That team is just generally selfish and not a leader among them. He really got banboozeled by Cal and his parents. I guarantee he would have been happier here and in a much better position to help his nba stock.3 points

I know we all think Juwan Howard still has to prove himself as a coach, but I think as long as Phil Martelli is around, we'll never know... The guy had some good teams at St Joes, and he was always well thought of by his peers...Helping Howard with this kind of talent shows that...3 points

The thing that's impressive about Mich is they're up by 35 pts, and they're playing like they are down 3 and near the end of the game. Wish we had that intensity.3 points

He's a really good facilitator and shoots quite a bit more short and mid-range shots than Vic. I think he is going to fit in really well for us.2 points

If VO remaining a Pacer after he became a FA was a big worry then the pacers did great. They may even have gotten the best player if Levert can stay healthy. I don't know if Levert can defend like VO but I think he might be better offensively at this point. The only players I've seen stopping him since the bubble have been Kyrie and Durant not letting him have the ball. There was no way he would get any shots with Harden joining the team. Pacer fans should behappy as he is signed a couple years out.2 points

I like how the just play relaxed. Whether it's 1 pass and a 3 or run the offense to get a layup they play great offensive and spread the floor and attack driving lanes.2 points

I know I am late to this party, but your neighbors calf visiting reminded me of a thing I saw a few years ago. There was one farm on the north side of a fence line, ran about 80 head of 100% all black Angus Cows. It was a cow/ calving operation, 2-3 Black Bulls. The farm on the South side of the fence line was a milking operation, running all Holsteins. Come Spring calving season, there was the farm on the south side, 79 cute little black babies, and ONE Black and white spotted baby. I laughed so hard every time I drove by. The product of a neighborhood indiscretion.2 points

Dickinson looked a little lost at first, but he eventually took Potter and Reuvers to the woodshed... Wagner was very tough...He's improved a LOT this year...And Mike Smith was a great pick up as a grad transfer from Columbia... But Livers was the guy who got them started...I think he's the key guy for them...2 points

I hope this demoralizes Wisconsin and their entire athletic department impoldes. All of it, like a vacuum. Then when we punch little sisters in the mouth Thursday and "play hard" and rip their soul out, purdue basketball is sucked right in with them.2 points

Might be since all of the UW are receiving social security and might be hard to recover. As for UW I wonder how many of those seniors will opt to come back next year. If they all leave then UW next year might be a lot weaker2 points

I think Wisconsin just officially gave up. Kid just tossed the ball over the whole backboard because the shot clock ran down. I will say this...Michigan would have 10 fouls already at the Kohl Center if it got called like our game.1 point

I finally found something I agree with DD and that is why do coaches take out a player with two fouls on the first half.1 point

Good for him. I am sure his illness helped him realize that there is more to life than work. I hope he can ride off into the sunset with his bride and his family1 point

I heard that as well and wonder how that happens. I guess it depends on when your birthday is and when you started school. I know I have friends who O graduated with is a full year younger than I . Also my best friend who I graduated with is like 11 months older than I am.1 point

It was 26-23 Michigan and they turned up their D and go on a 14-0 run... Wisconsin looks very flustered...1 point

I totally underestimated UM because I thought they would finish 6th or 7th in the league. I question the hiring of Howard and not all the way sold yet but he had them playing do well right now1 point
