  1. Would love to see Illinois beat Wisconsin tonight and then we beat Illinois on Saturday. They would both have 3 losses and we would be in great shape in the standings heading into the home stretch.

  2. That's completely fine. You chose to act the way you did. You completely dominated the entire basketball discussion with space and pace. Then you come here, this thread, and want to drum up rumors about 17-19 yr olds transferring when they haven't even played a game, one isn't even in college. It's a bad look. Quite honestly it's an awful look. Don't come on here and be abrasive and then just assume you should be welcomed with open arms, that's on you, not us.

  4. We’ve been riding up in the seed lines just from teams around us starting to lose. Huge opportunity these next couple weeks for IU to solidify themselves in a good position.

  6. As with any board, you kinda got to get to know it and it's posters. Most of us are daily lurkers but have been here forever and have oddly become buddies. We slowly have learned about each others ups and downs of life. We would love to have you hang out and become a part of it. I can tell you this. We love your passion. We don't all agree on anything. While @btownqb and @IowaHoosierFan or @IU Scott or any others may argue and disagree on one thread, they will go to another topic and find common ground. Head over to Colonial Cresters corner and you will see the human side where we share about family, mental, and physical health, favorite foods hobbies, etc. Learn that CC was the founder and passed away suddenly a little over a year ago. Learn that Milehiiu knit the fabric of civility on this board that we all try to maintain in his passing and in his honor. WE welcome you to stay because past the disagreements and tempers flaring, this is by far the best IU board there is.

  7. I did not watch most of the Nebraska game, but some may have been our 3 point defense at the start of the game. Our 3 point service was particularly kind to their shooters: "Welcome 3-point shooter. You are valued here at Assembly Hall. As requested, we found a wide open shooting location where you should not have disturbances during your shot. Let us know when you have finished so that we can pick up the ball to inbound it..."

  8. I wouldn’t consider myself overweight, but I could probably lose 10lbs. I’d like to be around 155. I have a gym at my house so I have no excuse not to workout. My biggest issue is getting stoned when I get home from work and start snacking instead of working out. Maybe next week 😀.

  12. After nearly two full years of work-from-home I am easily in the worst shape of my life. I wasn't in great shape before but going into the office I would at least get some exercise on my breaks and whatnot. I can feel myself losing mobility. I just simply have to start doing things differently effective immediately. I know I can do it, and I've done it in the past. Just...got to get back in better routines.

  14. Just going off what I'm hearing, but an old colleague who is a long time sports reporter, with decades in the Miami market, is saying he's talked to sources deep in the Dolphins "family" (his word) and that the owner is in a heap of trouble here. Sounds like the $100k to lose games deal may be accurate. Grain of salt of course though.

  16. After watching the development of players this year (e.g., XJ, RT), which former players would you have loved to seen developed by Coach Woodson and his staff? The two that really come to mind for me are: Devonte Greene Justin Smith Imagine what Coach would have done with Greene...

  18. Because getting or not getting the next job doesn't change what happened with the Dolphins, Giants and Broncos. Getting the next job doesn't make what happened less valid or it happening again doesn't make the case 'more valuable. What I'm getting from Flores is that this isn't about any one particular job. He's putting his career on the line to fight something that is severely broken.

  20. I knew a week was too long for us... we are all suffering withdraw symptoms by now. I think it is worse because we are bouncing between unmitigated hope and tempering due to so many years of disappointment. We just want the next piece of evidence.

  23. It's no different then when coaches say they are staying. History shows it is hardly reliable. 2 of the 3 sons are at IU now. It would likely be an uncomfortable situation if everyone around them thought they were going to bounce to another school. If they aren't leaving school mid-semester, it would be expected for them to say they are staying at IU regardless of what they end up doing. It's good news that they reaffirmed their commitments but it is fair to take the statements with a grain of salt. With the transfer rules, it's hard to expect anyone to stay for their entire college career with any confidence.

  24. The boys are staying. No dad would leave his boys future in bad hands. This is a non-issue.

  25. Nebraska up by 6 at Michigan with 7:00 to play. Michigan 1-12 from three at home. Didn’t they shoot about 80% from 3 against us? Seems like everybody plays their best game of the season when they play us.

  26. Emoni Bates future at Memphis seems to be on the rocks. Not playing Thursday and is looking into OTE or overseas opportunities. Memphis’ ship is actually sinking if something like this comes to fruition.

  32. There is a good chance the Flores could have got one of the open head coaching positions this year. He's a good coach. I would say this likely ends that. I'm not in his position, so I'm not going to be judgmental, but I would have thought he could bring about greater change by landing with a new team and winning games than by suing the NFL.

  41. Why do people over pay for caricatures like Gruden, Harbaugh, or Crean? I realize I'm not at smart as McVey. If you haven't seen the interview of a reporter asking him what happened in all these certain situations of certain games throughout the years, he remembers every single play. He thinks and behaves like he's the smartest guy in the room because he is. Anyways, anyone willing to work for free as a student manager and become buddies with the coaching staff and just be a gym junky and sacrifice about 90 hours a week doing anything and everything for the program, will eventually get an assistant job. And may, just maybe the stars align and you get lucky to be called up as a head coach. Or your dad and grandpa are coaches or players and so were you, so you "grew" up around the game. Most of us grew up around the game. And they get filthy rich. Don't get me wrong. I'm not about to leave my family at home like many of these dudes do but most of them aren't geniuses. Hell, I bet my jv basketball coach could have made it. He was so good. But he chose family as a priority and teaching over insurance. Just a great guy and builder of young men at the high school level. Many of you know men just like that. Is Michigan going to call his bluff or let him walk with no counter?

  42. Oh I agree. We have competed with everybody, so there’s zero reasons to expect otherwise. Some on here act like CMW is satisfied with this or that and he knows his team is just this or that. I call crap on that. He came saying he wasn’t rebuilding. He wanted to win from the get-go. He may know we have some limitations on the floor but that doesn’t mean we can’t get around those or he is just fine settling for being 6th or 7th. And I’m thankful for that. He has high expectations, whether some fans do or not.

  44. Our house has always been an exercise house but have made it even more of priority. Just got back from 8 miles on the Monon taking advantage of these temps before snowmageddon hits. I do 42 miles per week. Try to eat for the most part carb friendly foods( minus beer) and I'm at the same weight now that I was when I entered IU as freshman in Fall of 91. I know it's hard for all of us to get started but just do it. I've never met anyone who doesn't do life better when their lighter and in shape. Regardless of age.

  45. Going to be honest here. I don't have faith in this team or coach yet. I know we have been playing good ball. I know we're pretty close to a 1 loss team. I know all this. I see the talent. I see how we're playing. I watch the same games you do. I just can't. I can't bring myself to think we're not going to go 2-7 down this stretch and stumble into the B1G tourney and lose the first round. I so want to believe but as soon as i come here or start to watch the game, I just assume we're going to lose somehow. I am surprised when we win, happy, but surprised. I guess the last 10 years or so really took a toll on my fandom. I hope we finish strong this year, maybe that will re-lay the foundation and i can be more optimistic going forward. So if i sound skeptical in my post, its because i truly am. And i know i shouldn't. I should be able to just root them on and fantasize about B1G Titles and National Contentions. But i remember losing 11 out of 12. 11 straight years of losing to Wisconsin, Never winning the B1G tourney. Losing to teams we should beat easily and beating teams we have not reason to be competitive with. The inconsistency has really taken its toll. For that i apologize for my doubts and skepticism. I know I going to take alot of flak from IUScott who is going to tell me to not let the door hit me in the ass. btownqb is going to tell me i am idiot for not seeing what is clearly there. And KOB is going to give me all the facts to show me i am stupid. Yeah i know. I want to be the fan i 10 years ago. I want to get upset with losses and ecstatic with win. I want to schedule things around a game because its HUGE. But i am not and i don't. Its just a basketball game to me anymore and maybe that ok. Anywho, Lets win Saturday and move forward. Go Hoosiers.

  46. Having lived in Philly, I'm not sure how they get anyone not a native of Philly. Its the single worst place I've ever been on this planet and I've been shot at in 3 countries. Living in Detroit felt like Carmel compared to Philly. Baylor...tough to beat success and if he's tired of freezing his ass off in the winter, they could be the front runner. However, I like our chances here. Fife is a world class recruiter and he's about to get rolling.

  47. Yeah, that was a heck of a sequence and it was all "want to". Most of the guys on the roster (not Durr) could do that if they wanted to. Coaches love Rob because he does.
