I don't tweet. I don't beep. I don't even chirp. I have been known to toot on occasion. Mostly after a few brews.

Social media is "management by interruption" IMO. I don't text, no social media at all. If I want to talk with someone, I pick up the phone and call them.

Email is fine for non essential messaging. Everything else is just noise.

But those of you who are addicted to it. That's just fine. Your choice.

  2. I still think we need to find a true point guard. Rice may be an OK part time at the 1, Cupps isn't even close to being a true PG (yet), and I'd rather have Gallo @ 2-3.

We've got the opening, just need to fill it. Seems like most of the attention in the portal is 2-5 positions. (we needed those as well, but I'd like a knock down shooter point guard)

Someone said earlier that Anderson was likely looking for more minutes than IU had to offer.  Good problem for IU to have in April.

I find it hard to believe that Woodson would discuss how many minutes anybody will play at this stage of the game. I can see him saying there are 5-30 minutes up for grabs, but you gotta earn it. (FKIM01, not aimed at you as you were quoting someone else, just used your post for context)

Not a lot, but Purdue had five: Smith, Loyer, Gillis, Colvin & Heide

And I was only asking for 3. (Actually I meant to say 3-4 "good shooters", not necessarily 40% guys, but I'd take it.) After all, if you are serious about winning a Natty, you need more than one good shooter.

Saying we want 3 point shooters without naming names can't be debated very well...

I wouldn't care if his name is Fred Freeps if he can hit 39%-41% from three and take a stance on defense. So far, we're O-for. (Mac doesn't count because he's already here, and he's only 1. We need 3-4 in the rotation IMO)

  6. All you guys make good points. No doubt the recruits we've got committed are talented. But talent doesn't equate to winning.

I've been listening to Rabjohns on a podcast and he's saying IU's still going after yet another, big man. that would give us 3 bigs. All talented, all productive, but if don't have anybody that can stretch the floor, defenses will just clog the lane.

It's nice to see all you guys saying I'm wrong. Honestly hope you're right. But jury is still out for me on how productive and wins we get next year.

  7. Is this guy as good as Ware? (probably not)

So we're now gonna see 2 bigs playing together again, "inside (and hopefully) out". I'll believe it when I see a 4 out 1 in game with 3 shooters on the perimeter. (from IU that is)

So far I'm under whelmed with the committed recruits. Not a huge step forward IMO. If MM gets hurt we got NO shooters on the perimeter.

Cupps: No.     Gallo: No.      Newton: Unknown.     Rice: Not any better than Gallo.

You guys can celebrate all you want. Good for you. But I'm with-holding my excitement until I see the product on the floor.

    All,

We merged this original megathread and the Fire Mike Woodson thread. Many threads have been hijacked over the last several months with Woodson debate, please try to keep all of it inside this megathread from now on.

    - Mods

Can you do the same thing with a “all things Purdue thread?” Seems like more threads get hijacked by the 2-3 PU posters and replies than those posting about Woodson. Gotten to a point where you can,t read anything on here anymore without suffering thru a bunch of drivill on PU.

I maaaaaay get laughed at for this, but I am posting anyway to see how crazy I am…. Maybe desperate.

next coaching cycle I would put bill Murray’s son, Luke, at the top of my list to at least talk to/ do due diligence on. I was watching something last night, and Luke is the maniac behind UConn’s offense. All he does is watch basketball. FIBA, Europe, China, whatever. Anything. Everything. Took what he saw and developed their offense out of it.

or at least make him the highest paid assistant coach x2

You're assuming Woodson would listen to him (or anybody for that matter).
