Ok if we fired him after this year then you will be looking at a brad Bronwell type of coach because you will not get any quality coach to come here.  I blame this totally on the players and he needs to clean house.

I’m with you, we need big turnover and new blood.

I’m not really sure but if it isn’t somewhat obvious to others that archie is in over his head I don’t know what it will take

I'm really hoping this isn't the case. At this point I hope there are some internal issues (this has been rumored) that will be taken care of in the off season. Those kind of things can crush a team.

If he doesn’t change up some of the roster and brings back the same core, then all this “these aren’t his players” crap ends. It’s all on him at that point.

Just means we hired the wrong coach, again...

Kept telling people the last 5 years when they were calling for Crean's head that the grass is not always greener on the other side.  We will not get an elite established coach so if we fire him today then you will wash/rinse repeat.

Smith and Green just aren't good.

They're not inherently bad -- they just lack consistency in a BIG way.  Smith can make good plays but he can't seem to consistently get himself in a position to do so.  I'll concede that is in part due to Archie.  Has to put his players in a position to succeed and don't see that often enouhg.

There are issues but who does that ultimately fall on?  I always thought that was the staff.  Maybe Archie’s staff needs overhauled?

Archie with too much emphasis on defense and not enough on offense. The polar opposite of Crean.  Even Langford who had never lacked confidence doesn’t have any after coming here.

That’s why I said earlier that we hired the defensive version of Crean.  You are exactly right.  Needs a Offensive Coordinator so to speak.

Crean had 9 flipping years Scott and he is in the process of throwing his current team under the bus. Additionally, half the players you are ragging on were recruited by him.  The grass may not be greener but do you know the definition of insanity?

But will he?  Continues to put players in who make the same mistakes like Green and Smith.

This is what frustrates me when people want to blame the players and act as if the coach is faultless. Players and coaches are tied together. The coach runs the practice. The coach teaches the offense and defense he wants to run. It's up to the players to execute. If they don't, then get them out of there. I don't see that happening in these games. The fans know, every game, which players are going to turn the ball over and take awful shots and they continue to play! I've also never seen a top 5 recruit not have a bigger role. I don't think it's all Romeo's fault. I think Archie can't figure out how to use him or is too stubborn to adjust some things and put Romeo in successful situations.

Agreed. I’m not ready to put this on Archie yet AT ALL. There are obviously some issues going on with the players, on top of the fact that they just can’t shoot, and I believe our roster will most likely look a lot different next season. Archie probably knows it, and the players probably know it too. Ever since the Justin dad tweet, the team has looked like they are just ready for the season to end already (other than the miraculous MSU victory obviously). There is no tough grit fight to these players at all. They don’t fit Archie’s system, they don’t fit Archie’s personality, and they probably don’t want to have to play the way Archie wants them to play. Archie needs a full roster of his own guys who want to play for him and fit his style. His Dayton teams were freakin full of heart, toughness, grit, and had that refuse to lose mentality. Justin Smith, as highly touted as he became in the preseason, just looks like he’s afraid to break a nail and if he falls to the floor he lays there for 10 minutes before he gets up and lightly jogs to the other end of the floor. Knowing how tough Archie’s Dayton teams were just really makes me not want to put it on him yet at all. I honestly can see the roster looking way different next year. Im sure Archie knows darn well what needs to happen to get this program turned around, and the guys we have on this year’s team aren’t the guys to do it.
