  3. Obviously no guarantees but his interactions on twitter show me how loved he is. Guys in the league, former players....even his little nephew. Glad IU started getting serious again. Him and Hunter on the trail along with wisdom experience of Woodson/Matta...and Big 10 wisdom in Fife. Couldn't imagine a better assembled staff going right now.

  6. My apologies. Came back from one of the most arrogant, activist, nonrepresentational of our community school board meetings I’ve ever seen and took my frustrations in the wrong place. I know better. 👍

  8. Exactly what I said. Is there evidence the back problems are from lifting? We can see the absolute failure on the court for multi reasons.. hence why Archie was fired. I've not seen weight lifting issues.. there might be, but where are they? And if they are there.. why was Marshall retained?

  9. He won’t have to. Edy avg 14 mins a game last year. He can’t stay on the floor that long. Maybe 20 tops. Woodson will pull him out way on the floor and run a pick n roll all day and expose him away from the basket.

  10. Interesting to see it appears she was also involved in getting esports going at here old school. So not only does she get Athletics but also is in tune with the next generation of competition. IU has zero presence in esports right now and I have been told Glass wanted nothing to do with it though many schools actually align esports with Athletics. This is encouraging on many levels.

  12. Early on I expect offers to be flying but after a couple of recruiting cycles I hope we can get to where an offer from IU is known as hard to come by.

  14. Yeah, Moore followed Jankovich (assistant) saying he didn’t really care who the head coach was. But he said this about Brown, "He [Brown] showed me the ropes of the game," Moore said. "I thought I knew it, but he slowed my game down and made me think like a point guard and how to be a leader.” Just bringing up a connection there.

  15. Would appear as if the Pacers will be picking between 10 and 15 in the draft barring a late season run down the stretch or an even larger collapse then they’ll be higher than that. With that being said lots of good talent in that range to get a guard, wing or stretch four. 21. This has a chance to be the most intriguing (and hopefully fun) summer recruiting season in years and years. I hope Coach Woody gets out there himself and sees who he likes himself and not just delegates it. We’ve got three assistants and hopefully a head man who can relate well to players and parents alike, I think. Here’s hoping to a huge recruiting year. I am curious where we are with guys like Karaban, Shawn Phillips, Braden Smith, and a couple DC kids from the prior efforts. But we can see Coach Yasir and presumably Dane also have some connections.

  26. He's that good. 44% from three. 58% from the field overall. 88% free throws. He is thoughtful, articulate, and determined. Really like him. 28. I could see it becoming a race to get in so to speak. With the expansion of connections there may be an abundance of candidates for a limited number of spots. Could make for an interesting recruiting season as you say. Fun stuff and a nice potential change.

  35. Reds win 10-3 against the Indians. They were back home and like usual they score big. They are 6-1 at home and have scored 67 runs on those games. They are batting above .500 with runners in scoring position at home

  37. Wouldn’t be surprised if Washington slips some due to his injury. Loyer is already top 100 on rivals and should be a consensus top 100 when all is said and done. Hell Goode was consensus 94th and Loyer is better than him.

  38. I think Loyer will be right there. As of now, they’d be 1/2 IMO.

  40. I can help here. I voted on our ballot. Basically you pick 12 guys. Rank em 1-12 in order of importance to you. 1 being Mr Basketball. I won’t lie, Luke Brown got my vote. So it will depend who got the most amount of lower number votes. I’m guessing players 9-12 and 13-18 will be within 40-50 votes of each other, meaning 13-18 were that close to making it

  41. Jerry Meyer on Bates: First of all, Tamar Bates is a highly intriguing prospect to me. I don’t know if he will end up a five-star in the 2021 247Sports Composite, but I think he will at least end up close. He is a serious competitor who plays with a mental and physical edge. His instincts and burst of athleticism make him a dangerous defender and with his length he will be a versatile defender. Offensively, he seeks out and attacks his shot from deep. Bates can also attack either direction and can change direction on the spot. There is a jagged wiggle to his game and also an ability to score through contact despite his slender frame. His recruitment is still much in flux. Shaka Smart, who had signed Bates at Texas, is in a scholarship bind at Marquette. I have heard Oklahoma State and Missouri floating around. But again, I get the feeling that his recruitment is a good distance from settled.

  44. If there were multiple workout related injuries....even half the amount that people want to attribute to Clif...Tim Garl would have spoken up and put an end to those workouts. You don't think players would speak up and complain? You think they would praise him to the new staff? You think the staff would retain him? We want to put W/Ls on the trainer and not on Archie?? Did we lose those OT games because we were too tired or because we couldn't hit a jumper to save our lives? I don't necessarily even think we have guys that are out of shape. I mean Trayce played almost 35 minutes a game....look around at the other teams in the country and name any that their starting Center played more minutes than him? How many 6'9 guys can motor up and down leading your team in minutes and bang with other 6'10 guys and battle for 35 minutes a game. How many times did commentators talk about Race Thompsons transformation and guys bouncing off of him? He also avg almost 30 mins a game. Granted every team can be in better shape...bigger/stronger...and every coach comes in and says the same thing...."this team will be the most well conditioned team in the country" "we will never lose another game because we were too tired to finish"....thats coach talk. Sure some team are lazy...but this team wasn't. Coach just wants to come in and set a tone...but in reality not a whole lot needs to change in that. I think a lot of people think we needed to be in better shape because we were always walking it up the floor...but really that is just Archie's style not that the kids couldn't run. Heck we all saw them running and gunning early in the season flying around...freshman galloping like race horses....these kids are getting good training. They may need tweek som things to better suit the new coach but laying the blame of injuries at the trainer...thats just lazy. Unless kids come out and say they got hurt lifting you can't just make your own conclusion. Injuries happen when you play a physical sport. I imagine as hard as Archie coached defense and intensity practices were rough. Many kids have over riding health conditions that lead to injuries. I just think people have a narrative. I've never been a huge fan of Clif and the workout pics and videos etc...but I don't for one second think he isn't good at his job or is causing injuries because I hate watching 40 inch vertical hype videos.

  45. https://www.wsj.com/articles/cdc-identifies-small-group-of-covid-19-infections-among-fully-vaccinated-patients-11618490232 Experts believed that breakthrough cases were inevitable, but the fact that the early numbers are this low is pretty remarkable. That's only 5,800 cases amongst 66 million vaccinated people.

  46. I agree with his coach. He is underrated. I also noted that his coach said they don't "recruit" players but told them they believe in them. He's a lefty who can use either hand at the basket. He has a very quick first step. He's very aware of the whole court. In one play where he catches the ball at the free throw line, you can see him scanning the floor before he goes up with a shot. He's also a good defender.
