  1. Hi all - this is something I need to be cognizant of too, but we don't really need to tell others how to think. I'm on the optimistic/positive side just generally as a person, but if someone is a bit more negative and sour - that's their right, so long as they aren't breaking the rules. Calling them out on being negative isn't breaking the rules either, per se, but we generally prefer to debate someone's point, not the particular poster. Otherwise, we just get into a back-and-forth where posters try to be mind readers about someone else's motivations or feelings. That never goes well.
  2. Agree that Dolson just has that “it” factor that makes me feel like I should trust him.
  3. We will see very, very quickly just how good or not good Woodson is at recruiting, which is probably the most important part of all of this. I'd suggest people let our own transfers + potentially transfers from other teams play out. If he sucks, it'll be quite plainly obvious IMO.
  4. I'm excited for normalcy too, but normalcy may be a bit of a misnomer: https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-03-24/when-will-covid-end-we-must-start-planning-for-a-permanent-pandemic?sref=Yg3sQEZ2&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_content=business&cmpid=socialflow-twitter-business
  5. I was driving when the server hit the fan - can someone recap the last 6 hours? Any early player news or anything? tl;dr?
  6. What an incredible amount of assumptions you make so flippantly, and with no real evidence, in only three sentences.
  7. My post came off a bit preachier than I intended, and I totally get what you’re saying - there are a small minority who seem to cherish finding negative angles about every piece of IU news. Perhaps I should be more liberal with my ignore button lol
  8. Literally none of our feelings will make one iota of a difference. Not supporting the program (its players, coaches, etc) WILL make a huge difference. The team and recruits will recognize. Woodson has been an NBA coach for quite a while. It sounds like he’s going to be overseen or assisted by Matta, himself quite an accomplished coach. And he’s an IU guy. IU stands to benefit significantly from the NIL money players can now make. It matters to me a great deal more that we have a forward thinking approach to fully helping players capitalize on all of our collective IUBB mania/fandom. Scott Dolson didn’t ask for my opinion and the job is done, so I can be underwhelmed but it seems like some of you enjoy being mad more than anything else. If this all makes you so angry, maybe it isn’t really a hobby.
  9. Got my shot Tuesday. Arm was a little sore, felt fine. Headed back for the second Pfizer dose in about two weeks. good luck to all still hunting for an appointment! The process was painless for me.
  10. This thread has been helpful in figuring out how old some of you fogies are.
  11. If this lands - this is what program progression looks like.
  12. Getting my first dose soon. I'm young (28) and in good health, but AZ allows anyone to volunteer as crowd control/etc for those in line to get the shot. After your shift, you get your first shot and an appointment for your second. I'm excited! After hearing about the potential long-term complications from COVID, I would be so disappointed if I got it right at the very end of this pandemic.
  13. Yeah demand is about to go through the roof, IMO.
  14. Looking forward to the day we can lock this thread. I feel like we should have a small ceremony or something.
  15. Wonderful to see the timelines for vaccine availability being pushed up. Truly a miracle of medical achievement that many people - Trump, Biden, Fauci, a whole lot of brilliant doctors - deserve credit for.
  16. I spent most of Saturday in a confused state of hangover anyway - vbg. Glad you were able to get out here. Gorgeous weather right now.
  17. If you're an IPA guy (or if others are), the Four Peaks Hop Knot is a go to.
  18. how fun! May is goregous. I'm unfortunately a bit underwhelmed by the local beer but venturing west does bring us closer to CA and CO, which have tremendous beer IMO and thus most bars have those at the very least. I live in Phoenix, so unfortunately my knowledge of Scottsdale is a bit on the smaller side, but a few recommendations: OHSO is wonderful - huge patio, good bar food, and I'm a fan of the beer selection. Hula's Modern Tiki is a fun Hawaiian fusion that has an all day happy hour on Wednesday which... coincidentally.. is today now that I think about it. Wren House comes highly recommended, but I haven't been. Arizona Wilderness in downtown Phoenix is new and has a huge tap list and their beer is really solid. Four Peaks is probably the most notable AZ brewery. Good, not amazing. San Tan and Huss are both pretty solid. AS FOR MEXICAN FOOD: If you're interested in authentic Mexican tacos, I recommend Tacos Chiwas or Tacos Huichos. I've done... extensive research. La Santisima is a wonderful authentic joint with tacos/burritos/etc. People rave about Diego Pops in Scottsdale. Blanco Tacos/Tequila is good and a bit more "mainstream" than the authentic places above. Feel free to PM me if you come across particulars and want some feedback.
  19. Watching Iowa and Wisconsin battle. They are both really good. Garza is unreal. I haven’t seen a ton of either outside of our games. we beat Iowa twice and should have beaten UW. big ten is really difficult - I’m more impressed with IU than I was before I turned this game on.
