  1. I’ve heard that but I don’t see why that would be. The champions classic is held in the beginning/middle of November and the crossroads classic was always held on the 3rd Saturday of December. Unless there is some other contractual issue behind being involved in both events, I don’t see why that would have been an issue.
  2. Especially for our team. We have 9 guys that DESERVE minutes on this team like @btownqb mentioned. And we’ve got guys out of the rotation that could very well be getting minutes on other B1G teams. This isn’t your typical team where there is a significant drop off after about 5, 6, or 7 guys.
  3. Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe I heard/remember it incorrectly but I could’ve swore he said that.
  4. I use safari on my phone 90% of the time and haven’t had issues for months
  5. I believe during the game against Bethune Cookman Hummel said something along the lines of expecting Woodson to shorten his bench because it’s hard to play 9 guys. I just remember thinking that was a dumb statement because there’s no apparent reason why any of the 9 guys getting minutes right now won’t continue to do so.
  6. I’m not sure how nobody in the room was laughing at that. Tough crowd lol
  7. Well, still waiting on that championship...
  8. If he keeps getting looks like he has the first two games I think it's certainly possible.
  9. I went with Kopp. Don't expect him to get the most votes but he did what we need him to do all season long. 4/6 from three? Yes please!
  10. And the guy from the first unit who stayed out there… JHS
  11. Same here. And yes, I’d like us to be a little more multidimensional in how we get our post guys touches. It doesn’t quite show yet due to the size of our comp, but we’ve seen TJD struggle against the Kofi’s of the world when he’s just going 1v1 down low. If we can use the athleticism of our bigs that’s a major plus.
  12. It would be nice to have a few sets ran for Kopp, especially when he’s in a groove like he was at one point tonight. Maybe just because it was the first game of the season we’re waiting to implement some sets until we see some stiffer competition.
  13. Two things… 1. I was hesitant to state this earlier (and it will be interesting to see how it holds up against better competition) but we have a second TJD coming off the bench in Malik Reneau. Truly an elite player with tons of talent. 2. Bates looked solid on the defensive end. I didn’t necessarily have an eye on him at that end but just noticed here and there that he was doing some nice things. That’s huge for him and will help him stay on the floor longer.
  14. Pretty much. It’s not the end of the world if he misses a couple shots because he can impact the game in many other ways. He just has to focus on doing that. Woodson’s quote the other day about having other guys around him for support was spot on.
  15. - Points: TJD - Rebounds: TJD - Steals: JHS - Blocks: TJD - Assists: JHS - 3’s %: Kopp - 3’s Made: Kopp - FT Attempts: TJD - FT %: Kopp
  16. Same here, something about his smooth skill set was just very impressive. Regardless of the stats he put up, his presence was felt on the court and he looks to have a very polished skill set for his first game as a freshman.
  17. Sure, but I’m not advocating for him to be benched just because he misses shots or has a bad shooting night. That happens to even the best scorers. Just trying to elaborate on a point @rico was making that seemed to be misinterpreted. We have better players this year and can swap out players if necessary without seeing as big of a drop off as last year. You do make a good point about the pg position not being a true “plug and play” position like others are. But then again we have JHS to man that position when needed, and I’d assume most of us think that’s a major upgrade over last year.
  18. I don’t think anyone is suggesting that XJ should be benched based off a single performance in an exhibition game. I doubt anyone truly expects him to continue to play like that. However, it just seems to be a general statement that we have the luxury of playing other guys who may be performing better than XJ, for example. We didn’t have that luxury last year.
  19. “The San Antonio Spurs' release of guard Joshua Primo -- the No. 12 pick in the 2021 NBA draft -- stemmed from multiple alleged instances of him exposing himself to women, sources told ESPN on Saturday.“
  20. I’ll go with Logan averaging 5 minutes a game. He’s obviously got a lot of competition ahead of him but he showed today that he’s got some game in him and he can have an impact.
  21. He looked great in the exhibition. He started today and I’d be shocked if he doesn’t continue to start.
  22. I love to hear that. Personally, I think an improved passing game from him will open the offense up more than his ability to hit a jump shot. Being able to hit the open man on a double team is crucial. Under Archie it seemed we were never able to beat the double team and it killed us offensively.
  23. Wasn’t sure whether to post this in the NBA thread or not, but I think TJD could really benefit from adding some elements of Jokic’s game to his. He’s a phenomenal passer and can turn a standard defensive rebound into a fast break opportunity with his vision and awareness. Woodson wants to run a fast paced offense and having this ability could really enhance it.
