Look for another mediocre season with all the new faces that have to learn to play together as a team. and look for the that permanent built in excuse from the coach from the beginning to the end of the season. Well, look we are still learning to play together. not one so called reporter called him out on this when he was still giving this excuse at the end of the year.

Not offended.  Adults should be able to get rid of dysfunction.  I have been working a hell of a long time (knock on wood).   There are people who lack the personal skills to get along.  Personally, i can.  I find it to be a weakness of people who cannot.

Makes sense. None of us here know the true reasoning behind this (although I’m sure details will come) so it’s all speculation. I guess it really comes down to how big the rift was between them and what the specifics are. If it was something small, then I agree with your sentiment.

I am overly caffeinated, but I wonder if this portends Jim Todd joining the staff.  Maybe Woody wanted to make a hire and needed a spot.

But let's not sit here and pretend Woody was phenomenal with X's and O's all season.  There were some lapses although we were better later in the season.  There's no way Fife was leading him astray after working at a high level at MSU.

Ultimately, I find it to be weak leadership to move on from a good coach due to some dysfunction.  This should have gotten worked out.  It's ridiculous.

I don’t mean this in a rude way, but would you rather have a dysfunctional coaching staff leading to division in the locker room and other issues? If there were true issues going on among the staff I’d prefer it to be fixed sooner rather than later.

Never said he didn't love IU or was a great team mate.  He was not good on defense.  And had a chance to showcase how he is the best shooter on the team and didn't.  Plus if he was such a sniper, he would have found the floor.  He loves IU. So have so many others.  Doesn't mean he has the skillset to take a scholarship.  Regardless if we play 12 or 13, you use your scholarships on the best 12-13 players you can put on your bench because you don't know which of them might move from 12 to 7 in the rotation.  And since IU will always honor his scholarship for scholastics he will have his school payed for and still remain on the team.  Just my thoughts. But this team needs players who might make it on the floor next year, and i just don't see him doing it, unless he makes a huge jump in skillset

Leal is an interesting scenario because you have a guy that started one game (under a very specific scenario.. Stewart sitting and Galloway injured) yet also failed to see the court in about half of the games. I really have no idea where exactly he stands with Woodson. Who knows maybe Woodson has some confidence in him heading into next year? I do get your point though about whether or not he has what it takes to make that major leap forward.

Coach woodson might want to look at replacing the team trainer. Multiple injuries, lack of strength and poor conditioning. Nick saban did it at alabama a few years ago.

Poor conditioning? The team seemed to be in pretty good shape throughout the season. Eventually it will catch up (St Marys). Even the players referenced how the off-season workouts have helped them be in great shape for the season.
