  1. Does anyone know where I can listen to CMW’s weekly radio show? Edit: Nevermind I was able to find it
  2. All of our pg’s have glaring issues honestly. That wording may be a bit strong but it’s true. None of them are great shooters. Hopefully last night was an anomaly, but nobody held onto the ball last night. Rob seems to be the best with turnovers but outside of that he doesn’t provide much on the offensive end. X can’t seem to stay in the game longer than 5 minutes without getting into foul trouble. I don’t mean to sound like an old grouchy man lol but this group has the most to improve upon going forward. Each of them has their positives and it will be interesting to see how they continue to perform moving forward.
  3. Lebron's elbow didn't look inadvertent but it also wasn't malicious. Without watching the game, I would just assume that things were getting chippy between the two teams. Stewart on the other hand made a fool out of himself. I'd say he owes the team an apology after embarrassing himself and the team like that.
  4. Their O rebounding numbers are definitely skewed, but we have to do a better job of boxing out. We did a lot of turning and staring once the ball went into the air last night. I noticed Geronimo in particular last night didn't do too well boxing out. He still managed to pull in 6 rebounds last night (4 offensively) but he has a few lapses on the boards.
  5. Lander definitely impressed me tonight. I was skeptical about him but he seems to have made some improvement since last year. I do think he needs to tighten up his handle and make smarter decisions but other than that I thought he did really well tonight.
  6. Lots of ways to improve but a W is a W
  7. X has been awful today.. not going to sugarcoat it
  8. Love the 1 dribble pull ups from both Kopp and Bates. I don’t remember seeing anything like that from anyone the past 4 years.
  9. I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I have noticed Coach Woodson doesn’t play anyone for the rest of the half once they get their 2nd foul…
  10. Those who wanted Lander will get their wish tonight! Let’s see how well he does
  11. Is this necessary? Nobody even knows what happened yet
  12. I’m willing to stick my neck out in support of Rob. It feels like some of us here have unrealistic expectations for him. He’s not going to be your 2nd or 3rd leading scorer on any given night and he’s not a dynamic playmaker. He hasn’t been that the past 3 years and that’s not going to magically change under a new coach. I remember some dubbing him as the next Yogi for our team and people probably expect him to live up to that standard, which is pretty unfair to him. What he does bring is relentless aggressive defense and is always bringing effort. If anyone was paying attention there were multiple plays in the first half where St Johns turned it over and Rob was always in on the action. He was only credited for 1 steal on the night but his impact was far more than that. Rob’s not going to fill the stat sheet every night, and that’s fine. He doesn’t have to. He can impact the game in different ways. Now I’m not saying he isn’t free of criticism. When he’s the primary ball handler on the court he dribbled too much at the top of the key and the offense can’t get anything going. I think he’s still plagued by having the previous coach’s play style beat into his brain for the past 3 years. But, he’s gotta be able to learn to play differently. I’d love to see him play alongside XJ and even Galloway (which doesn’t look likely anymore). Those two guys are good ballhandlers that Rob can pass off to and they can help initiate the offense. I think Rob would do much better offensively if he can play off the ball more.
  13. Was Champagnie Rob’s assignment? I’m willing to assume he was guarding the pg 90% of the possessions he was on the court. Not sure you can hold him accountable for that.
  14. St Johns is doing all the little things right now
  15. One thing that concerns me about our starting lineup is the lack of quickness. TJD and XJ are pretty much locked in to guarding the opposing center and pg. That leaves us with Kopp, Stewart, and Race to guard 2-4. Race is a great defender but idk if he’ll have the quickness to keep up with Champagnie, who plays like a guard. On the other hand our starters will likely have a height advantage over most teams we play…
  16. We may have a long night when we play Syracuse if we don’t start shooting a little better. But hopefully CMW can get us a good game plan for them
  17. While I haven’t been watching, it sounds like the cameraman could use a halftime just as much as the teams
  18. I certainly do agree that the team could use some more enthusiasm and emotion, especially after these last 4 years of Archie Miller at the helm. Thomas Bryant comes to mind. Hopefully that picks up soon. I don’t think I was bothered as much by the introductions as you were. I was simply happy to see IU basketball for the first time in 8 months and fans in the building (it feels like it’s been forever). But looking back there definitely could have been more emotion shown. I wasn’t at the game so I can’t speak on what the atmosphere was like. I realize I came across harsher than intended in that original post. I was probably just a little irritated on the shooting performance and thought posters should have been paying more attention to that. So, I apologize for coming off that way and your perspective is definitely valid. But dang can we please make shots! I miss the Yogi and Zeisloft team, they could shoot the ball.
  19. Just turned this game on as well. I’ve always enjoyed watching AD and rooted for him a little more than others. Definitely going to watch him when I can at Providence.
  20. As much as I hate UK, Oscar Tshiebwe was very impressive last night. Dennis Rodman-esque performance… 12 offensive rebounds and 19 total rebounds.
  21. Never got around to posting it but it was nice getting to see the team play, even if it was a loss like expected.
  22. Good teams can do one or the other, but great teams can do both… hopefully we can progress in that area
