  1. I’m predicting a big game by Race. If he gets in the right spots in the zone and looks to the basket, he can make them pay.
  2. That is just the scoring difference for that player’s team vs the opposing team while that player is on the floor. If the opposing team scores more in the time the player is on the court, then the number is negative. It is meant to give an idea of how effective/impactful that player is while on the floor.
  3. Agree on a few points… but to be fair I don’t think Archie ever had 6 players as good as that on one team. But that’s in the past and there’s really no need for us to discuss that. I agree that our bench needs to shorten up in games like this. I thought Woody did a good job managing the game and getting the right players in the game in the 2nd half.
  4. If anyone argues that trayce isn’t the most important player every single game then they need to watch this first half. Him just being in the floor makes a night and day difference. I don’t see anyone saying that but it’s becoming quite evident tonight.
  5. TJD showing why he’s an all American tonight
  6. Watching the VCU Syracuse game early and I think Race can feast in that game in the middle of the zone. VCU has a guy there and he hasn’t even looked at the basket once with the ball. I think I like our chances in that game if we continue to shoot well (Stewart & Kopp)
  7. True story.. this year I wrote that I was thankful for IU having a new basketball coach! Haha
  8. When Labder can make those passes it’s a thing of beauty. The problem is it ends up in the stands half the time lol.
  9. Does anyone know where I can listen to CMW’s weekly radio show? Edit: Nevermind I was able to find it
  10. All of our pg’s have glaring issues honestly. That wording may be a bit strong but it’s true. None of them are great shooters. Hopefully last night was an anomaly, but nobody held onto the ball last night. Rob seems to be the best with turnovers but outside of that he doesn’t provide much on the offensive end. X can’t seem to stay in the game longer than 5 minutes without getting into foul trouble. I don’t mean to sound like an old grouchy man lol but this group has the most to improve upon going forward. Each of them has their positives and it will be interesting to see how they continue to perform moving forward.
  11. Lebron's elbow didn't look inadvertent but it also wasn't malicious. Without watching the game, I would just assume that things were getting chippy between the two teams. Stewart on the other hand made a fool out of himself. I'd say he owes the team an apology after embarrassing himself and the team like that.
  12. Their O rebounding numbers are definitely skewed, but we have to do a better job of boxing out. We did a lot of turning and staring once the ball went into the air last night. I noticed Geronimo in particular last night didn't do too well boxing out. He still managed to pull in 6 rebounds last night (4 offensively) but he has a few lapses on the boards.
  13. Lander definitely impressed me tonight. I was skeptical about him but he seems to have made some improvement since last year. I do think he needs to tighten up his handle and make smarter decisions but other than that I thought he did really well tonight.
  14. Lots of ways to improve but a W is a W
  15. X has been awful today.. not going to sugarcoat it
  16. Love the 1 dribble pull ups from both Kopp and Bates. I don’t remember seeing anything like that from anyone the past 4 years.
  17. I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I have noticed Coach Woodson doesn’t play anyone for the rest of the half once they get their 2nd foul…
  18. Those who wanted Lander will get their wish tonight! Let’s see how well he does
  19. Is this necessary? Nobody even knows what happened yet
  20. I’m willing to stick my neck out in support of Rob. It feels like some of us here have unrealistic expectations for him. He’s not going to be your 2nd or 3rd leading scorer on any given night and he’s not a dynamic playmaker. He hasn’t been that the past 3 years and that’s not going to magically change under a new coach. I remember some dubbing him as the next Yogi for our team and people probably expect him to live up to that standard, which is pretty unfair to him. What he does bring is relentless aggressive defense and is always bringing effort. If anyone was paying attention there were multiple plays in the first half where St Johns turned it over and Rob was always in on the action. He was only credited for 1 steal on the night but his impact was far more than that. Rob’s not going to fill the stat sheet every night, and that’s fine. He doesn’t have to. He can impact the game in different ways. Now I’m not saying he isn’t free of criticism. When he’s the primary ball handler on the court he dribbled too much at the top of the key and the offense can’t get anything going. I think he’s still plagued by having the previous coach’s play style beat into his brain for the past 3 years. But, he’s gotta be able to learn to play differently. I’d love to see him play alongside XJ and even Galloway (which doesn’t look likely anymore). Those two guys are good ballhandlers that Rob can pass off to and they can help initiate the offense. I think Rob would do much better offensively if he can play off the ball more.
  21. Was Champagnie Rob’s assignment? I’m willing to assume he was guarding the pg 90% of the possessions he was on the court. Not sure you can hold him accountable for that.
