Mmm ok.
Then I don't EVER want to hear anything about youth, injuries, anything of that nature again.
I think its 100% malpractice to not fill every scholly. I also find it unimaginable after last season.
An open spot this year is a little different than last year but they are related. Last season was 100% just negligence. This year it should have already been filled with an incoming Freshman but we started the off-season with 0 recruits (more negligence). I think it will be super difficult to find a transfer who would agree to come fill a spot that projects to have 0 minutes. I'm very excited about who is coming in and give the staff all the credit for working to right the ship.. but I have yet to hear any acceptable excuse for that open spot last year.
Just my opinion of course.

So... are some really complaining about the staff flying to visit these recruits? WTF? It's not like they're visiting Avon or Greencastle for Pete's sake.

And just like a Purdue championship run, this thread has derailed.

He’d be a backup 4 and we have a huge hole for that role
Show him a montage of MR's silly fouls. Best way to assure him that there are plenty of minutes to be had

He's the kid who went for 19 against us on 5-8 3 point shooting...39% from 3 for the year and 13 ppg
But is he a shooter? 😉

It feels quiet here. Should we talk about something to pass the time? Perhaps a topic we haven't touched on much like "do you think we need shooters" or "what defines a 'shooter'"?

This guy seems a bit more fleet of foot than Sparks and is shooting threes. I say bring it.
Also need to think about what these "bench" guys will bring to practice and how that can help the starters improve. A big body that can stretch the floor will force Ballo to work on his D for example.

Look's like Woodson's knee replacement was a huge success.

Can you do the same thing with a “all things Purdue thread?” Seems like more threads get hijacked by the 2-3 PU posters and replies than those posting about Woodson. Gotten to a point where you can,t read anything on here anymore without suffering thru a bunch of drivill on PU.
this is what that thread would look like for me

If Ballo takes all of his visits it would be hard waiting until after his last visit. If we can get Payne right now then you probably should take him.
This is a tricky one. Ballo seems to be the kind of player that is worth waiting for.

This probably should go in a different thread but I'm not sure which one. The term "shooter" has come up a lot in this thread though so I'll post here. What are folks thinking with statements like "he's not a shooter" or "we need shooters"?
Are folks wanting/expecting someone like Hulls where the player has one job and that is to knock down 3's at a +40% with defense, rebounding, driving the ball, etc. being optional?
or
Are folks wanting/expecting someone like Mark Sears that shoots +50% from the field +40% from 3, +80% from the line and can also kill you off the dribble, play D and rebound?
or
Are folks wanting/expecting something in between?
I'm not making a case one way or the other for what "shooter" should mean here, I'm just trying to understand what other's are wanting/expecting.

Any chance Cyril could be one of those TBDs?

After the first round I was 25th and finished 5th
My approach of picking the bracket based on how miserable I would feel with the outcome almost came back to bite me.
Would have finished first had PU won. Ended up 22nd. I've never been happier with such a crappy finish :-).

I do have to laugh a bit though. When we've run the "weave" or whatever you want to call it at the top of the key, everyone complains about it. UConn ran that set quite a few times in the second half. I believe Archie ran that offense more so than Woody though. IU needs athletic guards. However, if you ask me, it wasn't necessarily UConn's "modern offense" that beat PU it was their speed and athletic ability on defense that shut PU down. PU's guards were dominated defensively.
BINGO! IU runs that weave at the top but we don't have the guys that are both threats to drive and shoot the 3 like UConn.
PU came out committed to keeping UConn from taking the 3 and dropping Edey to protect the paint. UConn burned them from the elbow (much like JHS did) and that opened up the paint and the 3-point line. NCState did similar but just didn't have enough guys that could make shots
