We better hope it's Illinois.  We beat Illinois and lose a close one to Purdue and we MIGHT get in.  We beat OSU and lose a close one to Purdue and we don't get in.  We need that signature win.

    Or....

We beat OSU and stomp Michigan State. That would be nice 🙂

Lol. Typo. I mean when your opponent shoots 16-58, you expect your 6’8 guys to get rebounds. Not sure I’d “credit” them for that. Neither passed the ball well, too many turnovers, fouls (as you pointed out) but most of all…terrible shot selection. We lost a ton of momentum and the ability to really stretch the lead when they started jacking up wild shots. Their defense was also…lacking, to say the least

Yeah. Everyone time one of those two caught the ball in the second half I was cringing waiting for a turnover or a forced shot against 2 or 3 guys.

Imagine how good this team could be if Mtaco & MK have a good game to match the rest of tonight’s performances?

Assume MK is MR since Kopp didn't see any minutes tonight 😉

Definitely not their best games, both had some bonehead fouls. But they combined for 13 boards and we're 7-8 from the line.

I am very interested in what Coach Woodson will do with his coaching staff next year. There definitely needs to be a shake up. Who does he keep and who does he replace. I did see Walsh mentioned for the IUPUI head coaching job…

If they don't get rid of Cliff Marshal, I'm out :coffee:

If we get Penn State, XJ didn't play in either game, and Ace Baldwin had 22 and 23 against us... I understand a lot of people are down on X, and rightfully so in some instances, but he can defend... And I think Baldwin is made to order for him...

I agree his defense has been the thing we've missed most when he's out. Let's hope we can shake the Nittany Lion curse that's plagued us recently.

Yeah, but if we get to the championship game that’s seven Ws in a row, and probably gets us back in the conversation as a bubble team. We’ll see…one at a time.

yeah, let's first see if we can beat the two teams that we are 0-4 against this year losing by an average of 13.5 points.

I just think a number of the comments here and in other places that I've seen are pretty disrespectful and out of line.

I am also not OK with the personal and petty attacks being piled on. If we look at the situation from a job/responsibility perspective though I think there are valid arguments for replacing CMW.

There are some arguments that fall under the "difference of opinion" category: substitution patterns, style of play, roster construction, etc. Let's throw those out of the conversation for now.

There are others that are (at least to me) facts that point to some level of negligence on the coach. A scholarship left open this year and 0 recruits for next year. Even when it was just 1 recruit, I still feel it was negligent. Add to this the responses given when questioned about this area and it doesn't help his case, IU legend or not.

Just the opinion of a lifelong fan (not sure if I qualify for the "real" label or not)

Trying to figure why we are talking like Woodson is still being fired.

Some of us are still hoping slightly that the administration will pull its head out of its ass.  Probably won't happen.

I feel it more likely that Dolson steps down/gets fired than CMW at this point. Just sad.

Don Fischer was on the JMV show and was talking about all of this. He said he knows for a fact the fans does have influence on kids current or recruits with how they act on social media.

If our fans boo at senior night that will not only strengthen the reputation of our fan base. If you are unhappy just don't go to the game

No way should you boo players or coaches on senior night IMO.

But... If you (coach or player) can't handle fan and media (social or mainstream) criticism, complaining, etc. you shouldn't be in major college or professional sports.

Why would IU have to even announce he’s coming back? To quiet down message board rumors? There’s clearly more going on.

But did IU announce it? I would expect that statement to come form the AD. I don't recall any specifics as to who these "sources" are. I totally could have missed it though. Is so, my apologies.

Buckner and the Simons said Woodson deserved another year. They are loading up the NIL funds and making sure Woodson can get players in the portal. Time will tell whether or not that is successful.

So we left a scholarship open this year because we didn't have enough in NIL fund to pay a player to fill it?

What will be said to the class of 2025 in Indiana? Will Woody be here when they are freshmen?

Knowing that he is not the long-term solution, over the last month Dolson and Woodson came to an agreement that Woodson would, after this season announce he'll be retiring after next season.  As part of this, Dolson has agreement from some coach (for the sake of argument only - let's say May) to come in next year as a "chief of staff" (or some super assistant role) with the understanding that he takes over after next season (similar to the Duke, UNC transitions).

What are the chances it plays out like this? Slim I'm sure.

This is the only way I can see the program not digging itself deeper into a hole by keeping him for next year.

I'm sure that I (like many others) just don't want to have to wait for 2026 or 2027 to start seeing (or even have hope that we'll start seeing) the program going in the right direction.

The reality is probably more like... The administration seeing that his buyout is way more reasonable/acceptable after next year decided we'll make a change then and just pick up wherever things land after that (reset to Crean year 2 or 3 level)
