  1. Meh. It was relevant to the topic so I don't have an issue with it. Not like perry thread is relevant to IU anymore given he committed to UK
  2. I was going on the assumption that he wanted to attend both schools because of being indecisive. Maryland could be the farm team in this instance. lol Of course, just picking IU would be better.
  3. why not spend a year at maryland and then transfer to IU lol
  4. The first DQ opened on Nov 5 in Joliet, IL Maybe he is waiting til the 5th. Just kidding, it was June 22nd
  5. I get that. IU seems to be snake bit when it comes to getting punishment for the weirdest of things. It would be interesting to see the amount of schools punished before NIL started and how many have been punished since. Seems like there isn't much that can't be done now a days compared to before.
  6. that is why i used the word often. Every situation is different but us as fans usually aren't privy to which kids are commits and which are just holding their spot.
  7. I think using the word committed is where the rub lies. Committed should mean you have made your choice and are done looking. However, committed often means this is my leader and I want to save my spot for now. At least basketball and football both have early signing periods so you know who is really committed (signed) and who is just holding their spot.
  8. Thinking there should be repercussions isn't trashing anyone. Drama much?
  9. Courts haven't even heard mgbako's case and the threshold for a suspension should be much lower than the threshold for going to jail. So claiming that nothing should be done based what courts did or haven't done yet is a bit off the mark
  10. for no reason is an assumption. Sure, i wish this was all the fault of the taco bell workers and the police.
  11. He just got mad at taco bell workers? He was bullied by police? Major understatement of the year combined with facts not in evidence.
  12. There is when people shouldn't be looking the other way. Never said the punishment should be equal.
  13. The post I responded to was acting like he didn't do anything bad. And I sure as hell hope the entire team wouldn't have instances of acted like that. You think that is so common place on our team that a couple game suspension would keep us from fielding a team? Please
  14. I was only comparing the looking the other way. Sorry, didn't realize that needed clarifying
  15. That's where i disagree. Williams should have gotten a game or two plus whatever the courts dished out.
  16. who when what? what are you questioning? We have gotten on Izzo (or some fans have) for not dishing out much in the way of punishment for one. I have also read comments in the past about illinois, purdue and others getting chided on our forums when they don't punish a player. It's happened quite a bit over the years so not sure how that's debatable.
  17. I think cursing/being belligerent and refusing to leave is bad. I think coming back (even if to an adjacent parking lot) was bad. Maybe the cops overreacted when punching out his window but I'm not sure what story doesn't also have Mgbako in the wrong given he was told to leave and shouldn't have still been there to get his window smashed. Sure we don't 100% know given the report/news could be inaccurate, which is why I said based on what we know. I guess I should have said based on what was reported.
  18. Based on what we know, I think he should have been suspended for a few games. Looking the other way on player's conduct is exactly the type of stuff we scold other schools/coaches for doing. Maybe he has come up with repercussions behind closed doors but how bad could that be given no missed game time. Oh well, time to move on
  19. Guessing Queen is probably a long shot now that Fland went elsewhere. Can't put the band back together so to speak.
  20. I don't think it is that big of a deal that he picked someone else on the same day as hoosier hysteria. Not like that is a national holiday or anything. I doubt it even phased Woodson other than being disappointed on losing out on a recruit.
