That leaves running backs, corners and safeties by my count as far as position coaches.  I also don’t know if the alignments of Haines at DC plus LB, Cain at ST’s plus TE, and Shanahan at OC plus receivers will all hold.

I am sure he will get a good combo of player development and recruiting for the final spots.  Florida connections are always a huge plus.

I missed something.  I saw Shanahan as OC.  Will he also be the receivers coach?

Thats a very simple answer for me.. because they arent one of the top 4 currently. They had 2 weeks to show what they were without Travis.

I didn't necessarily say what I thought the committee would do, I said my opinion.

Fair.  I was arguing what the committee will do.

Ehhh.. I'm in on the SEC. Any rep they get is deserved.

    1. UM

    2. Wash

    3. UGA

    4. Texas

would by my 4. Sorry, but there isn't a way for me to believe UGA isn't in the Top 4.

I get the SEC.  But FSU pounded LSU and didn’t lose.  How do you keep them out of the top 4?  That one win was a better noncon win than anyone in the SEC had.  Debate is fun but in a little over an hour I’d be stunned if FSU was out.

They had UGA #1 a week ago, I don't understand how you could drop them out of the top 4 with a 3pt loss to a Top 10 team on a neutral field.

Maybe they shouldn’t have been 1 in the first place?  Maybe they were 1 only because of the conference reputation? The same team that beat them lost at home by 10 to Texas.  Because three other teams haven’t lost and then UGA just lost to that top ten team.  And the biggest factor.  The committee is made up of people and people do all kinds of crazy stuff!  You ask a valid question but at best Georgia should be 5th.  They lost to Alabama so should fall behind them.

I’m pretty sure conference championships is supposed to be a criteria. In my mind there are 3 one loss teams, Georgia is the only one who is not a conference champion, which I think should eliminate them. Alabama and Texas are both conference champions and have relatively close resumes, so the head to head win should make the difference.

I’d put Ohio State over Georgia.  The win at Notre Dame and that close loss at Michigan are better than what Georgia has done this year IMO, but to your point they are both out since they aren’t conference champs.

The SEC continues to carry the myth of superiority because they only play each other. You saw what happened in the ONLY game Georgia or Alabama played a decent team OOC, they LOST to Texas!

As someone mentioned earlier FSU beat LSU also.  Final score?  45-24.  Beat down.

Another incredible season.  And what an amazing atmosphere that was for college soccer.  Hate to see it end that way, really do not like PKs

I’d argue it was an ok season.  Not a good start at all and it cost us having to go on the road during the tournament.  Really good end to the season that came up short.  Again.

I dunno.  The NCAA does have an "injury clause" for the basketball tournament.  They deserve to be in with a win but....

That’s fair a fair point.  But it’s not like FSU is a group of 5 school.  I just can’t imagine them leaving out an undefeated ACC champ.  Maybe I want the SEC left out too badly.  Lol

I would say yes. Lots of crazy scenarios playing out. Guess it's time to just sit back and let it play out and the debate can start tonight around 11 EST.

I agree.  I think they do also.  I think having that conference championship matters.  I’m a little surprised they aren’t already with that win at Alabama.

I think I heard the phrase agent of chaos was associated with today if Bama wins.

Assuming Michigan handles their stuff you have Michigan and Washington in as locks. Now if Georgia wins it comes down to undefeated Noles or 1 loss Texas. If Bama wins though this is where it gets stupid. If Bama wins does Georgia fall all the way out? Does Texas jump Florida St because of SOS and Longhorns win in Tuscaloosa?

One more. If Noles win but it's close do they still deserve to be in because of undefeated record? This is always the hard part. Is it the 4 best teams to get in or the 4 most deserving.

If Texas wins today do they jump Ohio State?  That’s a very interesting question to me.

Nobody jumps an undefeated and conference champion FSU IF they can win with a third QB today IMO.
