Are you trying to say it's done? Or something else?

Good for them and congratulations to Casey. Well deserved!

I’m sure it’s a troll job. Wouldn’t be shocked if a Rutgers announcement is incoming
That's what a friend told me who frequents another IU site.

The players know. You’re seeing it play out now. Watch for more receivers to enter the portal soon.
Players entering the portal doesn’t say they know who the next coach is going to be. With a coaching change players entering was inevitable. Heck with the end of the season players entering was inevitable.

The guy that owns suite 4
So the guy who owns suite 4 knows but nobody else does and it hasn’t leaked anywhere else? He leaked it to you but none of the players have? I’m not buying it.

Chris at BTB thinks they have been working on it for a couple of weeks.
That’s exactly what I was wondering. Thanks.

Also Utah is a better program than IU and they took a chance on Myer even though he was from the MAC
I don't know that they were when Meyer was hired. They weren't part of the Pac-10/12 until after he was hired. They had one Mountain West championships in the 90s and one WAC championship before Meyer was hired and then you have to go back to the 60s. I know IUs history well, but when Utah hired Meyer I would not say that they were a better program. Meyer put them on the map. But yes, we screwed the pooch on not giving him a chance. Was that Donninger? (sp?)

Doyle and his Indystar article. Right coach can win here now! So tell us know it all. Who is that coach that can win here now? An unproven? Had been done and failed. A young up and comer? Tried failed! A mid major? Tried failed! Major player, proven big time winner. Never been tried. Why? Look at the totality of this and what is the one common denominator? An administration that has not and probably still does not care about football. They care more about being politically correct. Finally a player comes out and speaks the truth and the media says. He’s just supporting his coach. Until we hold that admin accountable our mens sports programs will continue to suffer.
I think this may have been true of past administrations but I’m not convinced this is true of this one. We just made a big investment to fire a coach. There are rumors of a major facility project coming. We gave Allen a major pay upgrade after arguably the two greatest seasons in two generations and we have paid assistants more than ever before. We have a new president. Let’s see how this all plays out.

It’s clear to me what’s going on. There have been a handful of people that have gotten contacted. IU is in the process of narrowing things to finalize whoever their top candidate is sooner rather than later. If they don’t get things done with that person they’ll move on to another target. What has also been verified is who isn’t in contention and that’s everyone that Feldman mentioned lol
Ok. That last sentence made me laugh!!

I think people are spitballing. There are just too many names and rumors flying around today.

Had their best finish since ‘08 (T6th).
11 wins in the Big Ten which is the most since ‘99.
But did not make the NCAA tournament. First Big Ten team out. Lots to be proud of with the season.

Well whoever the new coach is will have to go shopping for a new QB.

I’d rather have Chryst than Fitzgerald if it were between those two. I think we need an offensive minded guy and Fitzgerald’s last few seasons at NW are concerning.
I don’t see Chryst as offensive minded. To me he comes from the old days of the Big Ten where you run it every first and second down. I just have concerns that that can work here.

IU tied ND 1-1 back on Aug. 24 at ND.

Right, so at ND it will be.

Curt Cignetti’s record at JMU. 52-9
This is the guy I want. He’s building a program and his ability to recruit northern Virginia (I’m assuming he can) could be a bonus. And his teams score.

In the last 10 years, or 60 state championships, 21 were won by private schools.
Non issue.
Take out 6A since there aren’t any private schools in 6A except when Cathedral gets bumped up. It’s still an issue. I don’t think it’s any more or less an issue than it has been however. But public schools will always dislike private schools.

IU will be at 2 seed Notre Dame next, correct?
-
What are the odds that all of these initial rumors turn out to be false? Seems like that happens a lot with coaching changes.

Ok I’ll ask. If I’m the idiot so be it. Yes PF had some great years at NW of all places. But his last, what, 3 years (maybe just 2) were also awful. Arguably as bad as what we just went through. What gets some of you so interested in him?

It will be someone with HC experience. The current names I’ve heard today that IU is involved with are Candle, Chryst, Cignetti, and Fitzgerald.
I really like the idea of Cignetti.

Potential HC Candidates
in General Football Discussion
Posted
Way back on page 1 I posted his bio from JMU. He became 1A for me without knowing anything about his systems. His age doesn't bother me and he has won wherever he has been. He's been a successful HC unlike a couple of other guys mentioned throughout the thread. There is no baggage like 2 other guys. If IU can actually land him this to me is about as close to a home run as IU football can realistically expect to make. Let's get this done!!
