I'll be the first to say welcome back, but am going to be absolutely useless on the rest. 😂

One I don't live in the Indy metro area and two....well, I guess I'm part masochist and would try doing all of that myself sans roof.

I appreciate the reply either way! I’ve found that I’m more destructive that helpful in terms of household projects lol

  2. Hey everyone! My wife and i are finally moving back from Florida to the Indianapolis area. We are going to be new at doing a lot of the maintenance of the lawn ourselves, and we are looking for reliable contractors, plumbers, roofers, (insert anything you could think of). We just would love to compile a list of people who do business the right way. I appreciate any insights you can offer!

Love this. Guessing IU will steal some value from JMU in terms of players. If IU can keep a good mixture of the portal guys mixed with some of the JMU talent… I don’t see why IU can’t win 6+ next year.

I have looked at our schedule consistently over the past 10-15 years, and each year I have the same thought. “No reason we can’t win 6+”…and, almost every year, we don’t. I’ve just been so beaten down by the program over the years that I’ll have to see the evidence before I can reliably predict such things again. I am really hoping the tide turns in our favor this time.

  4. Watching ESPN last night, looking at the bottom line, I saw it.  I immediately grabbed my phone and was going to text my father.  He had already texted me the news of Coach's passing, which I hadn't seen.  The text after that was a picture of my father and Coach after a game (my dad did security for overtime pay for the games).  I didn't think I'd be that upset about it (I thought it would be coming at some point soon), but that picture with Coach and my dad hit hard.  Sitting in front of our oversized TV, watching channel 4, listening to Don on the radio coming back from practices, all with my dad.  It's like a chapter closing for the both of us, and me subconsciously thinking about the inevitable passing of my father, as he is getting older.

My last day as a educator is tomorrow.  And, as an educator (I know there are a few on here), I always tried to instill the same values that I learned from both my dad and Coach Knight.  Hard word, perseverance, dedication, etc.  Coach made an impact on countless lives and his legacy will live on forever amongst the greats, and I just hope I've had the same type of impact on the kids that I have taught through the years.  We have lost another great man.  One with morals, standards, and an insatiable thirst for perfection.  Not too many of those still around.  Ride high, Coach.

    Something to think about.

If Xavier Johnson and Boogie Fland opposed each other on the court today, who would have the upper hand?  My money is on X.

That is not intended to be a swipe at Boogie.  He very likely will have the more successful professional basketball career.

But, I think most of us would be in agreement that winning titles in the court is more important to our 'fandom' than winning every single recruiting battle.

PG is the most important position on a basketball team.  Experience plays a bigger part in the success of a PG than it does at any other position.

I'm not saying we always need a 6th year guy like X as our PG.  But, what I am saying is that, especially in the 'portal mania' world we have today, that championship level PG is easier to get ahold of than ever before.

Regardless of what school Boogie chooses, Mike Woodson knows what he is doing and will have someone ready to take over for X next year.

It may be Cupps.  It may be an experienced transfer.  Heck, it may even be Boogie since he's not officially announced.

Give this coaching staff the benefit of the doubt.  It will all work out in the long run.
