This article just goes to show how pompous and petty the Duke crowd is...

And I thought Kentucky fans were bad about being scorned...

Could you imagine taking jabs at an 18 year old to make yourself feel better about them not coming to your school?  It takes a certain type of person to type that, edit it, and post it to the masses.  Low class and even less dignity.

Still say things like this will eventually bring an end to college sports. It is coming to a point where I care less and less about the game. It has happened to me with the NBA where the last 15 years I rarely watch games besides the Pacers. I have probably watched a total of a half hour of this year's playoffs.

i'm at the same point with the NBA as I was with the "WNBA" as soon as it became a thing.  NEXT.  Can't watch it, for a slew of reasons.

I didn’t read it that way but I am sure some of those quotes were before this weekend. Doubtful they spoke to the HS coach on Sunday. He also didn’t even say much.

St Johns is Nike right? Don’t see how they fit.

yea, unless it's just me, i can really never get anything out of a high school coach's quote about how the player sees this or that.  It all seems pretty vanilla to me.  nobody wants to give anything away, everyone gets a trophy, everything is great, and the world is made of marshmallows.

The thing is, Mgbako or any high level player isn’t less likely to be drafted in the NBA by coming here instead of Kansas (or UK, Duke, UNC, etc.), so long as they play well and are in a position to showcase their talents.

We as fans start splitting hairs when discussing facilities, exposure, perks, etc., when it really comes down to fit and relationships. It’s like any job, it can be a make or break based on who you are working with and surrounded by.

Those connections are intangibles that can’t really be quantified on paper, so truthfully, we have no idea.

Are you being level-headed about this? What the hell is wrong with you?!

  5. I usually reserve the word hate for very few, in terms of people in the realm of college athletics.  Brian Cardinal, Chris Kramer, any big man from wisconsin, et. al. But this brings Dickinson to a whole other level.  The absurdness to film, edit, and disperse such idiocy is beyond comprehension (and the car was a bronco, like ok?).  How no one in his "circle" said "yea, maybe this isn't the best way to do this.", is beyond me.

Dickinson announcing today. Should be interesting to see if it’s Kansas. Remember, if Dickinson goes to Kansas…Mgbako would have to compete for offensive touches (and likely be behind Dickinson on the scout report) which seemed like a  issue at Duke with several of their returnees.

I'd love the opportunity to beat Dickinson one last time (why do i feel awkward writing that?).

  7. hey man, I get on these boards to relax and shoot the s***.  I'm not looking to get into heated debates on what are, to me, pretty surface level happenings in the grand scheme of things. I made a point that I think Mike Woodson either wouldn't recruit 2 smaller, less-athletic guards to play together like Painter did, or he would somehow stagger their minutes to make it work if he thought it made IU a better ball club to have them both.  Either way, it's all good.

There's a Michigan article out speculating that Bidunga maybe you considering reclassifying to 2023, and the Ann Arbor could be a possible landing spot:

just read an article today on TDH and it stated very specifically that Flory will NOT be reclassifying.  whatever information they got is bad.  If Ware is going to do his thing this year and move on, Flory will have his spot and plenty of minutes.

Gotta agree….not sure why MP told them to turn it over 16 times and shoot 5-26 on 3’s

neither Cupps or Perry are elite athletes but both are good enough shooters to play off the ball and handle & pass enough to play PG

or maybe it was the fact that he didn't insert a different wrinkle into the lineup that would have avoided crapping the bed at the biggest moments in the last 10-15 games of the year.  kids are going to make mistakes, but it was a pattern that a blind man could see.  you can't be THAT wrapped up in painter's coaching ability to see this was a mistake right?

That's my feeling on usage as well but I just don't see a guy like Travis Perry coming in and sitting behind Cupps for 3 years until he can comfortably see the court for 30 minutes a game. I get the feeling that Kentucky is his dream school but at the same time realizes playing heavy rotation minutes is always going to be an uphill battle there. Otherwise he likely would have committed a long time ago.

I probably worded my response poorly.  I didn't mean for him to sit behind Cupps for 3 years or anything like that, but as a freshman he's probably not getting over 10-15 minutes a game unless he is really stroking the 3.  And if he comes in and is eventually better than Cupps, I don't see Cupps as a guy who is going to put his head down and cry about being in a large reserve role.  Either way, I love the player and I hope we eventually land him, but they don't seem to fit together seamlessly.  It would take a better coaching job than what Painter did this year for it to really blossom in the Big 10.
