That was a bad matchup. Happens to every team. Back to the regular scheduled programming. -
I think it's too little too late unless something amazing happens.

Carey has a pretty good resume. I think it is too little too late. The window of opportunity for this staff has past.

This is a great post and I agree 1000% with all points. IU definitely needs a new perspective and football is the driving force now and forever to long term college athletics. We need to reinvent ourselves. Forget about the painful past and become a football school and prioritize it. Basketball takes care of itself but it won't pay the bills down the road.

We are beyond the crossroads.

Bad leadership.

The last three games are against teams that aren't very good and winnable with improvement on offense. Maryland/Rutgers are no OSU/Michigan either. Besides the PSU/Michigan/OSU games, we should "expect" to beat or battle against the other lowly teams in the BIG every year. If that is not the expectation from the administration/fan base/coaching staff, then we should get ready to receive what's coming to us once big football is in full effect.

I actually feel like we have a path to six wins this season with some modest improvement. The defense is a .500 level defense and opportunistic. Good quarterback and will only get better. Skill guys have got to make plays. Dropped passes happen. But geez, we could have been up a couple touchdown at the half. Play calling is stupid. Unless you have a kick ass offensive line that can block second level, triple option football is dead. 4th and short, IU should kick the field goal and go up two scores. Allen has got to chill the hell out. He needs to let his D-coordinator go crazy on the sidelines. I think part of the bad decisions that are made are because he is all over the place.

"Anchored in substance" as the Oregon coach said in his pregame before beating the hell out of Colorado. IU football is anchored in substance. Probably need to get rid of LEO. This is college football for God's sakes.

I've been to 5-10 IU football games in my lifetime. I've never seen a win. This might be the first. LOL

Yeah his schtick got old really fast. Humility would be the end of a guy like that. But love him or hate him, he has definitely brought confidence and winning to Colorado in a short time.

Winning... that's what the people want. -
Peay Sh--s? Sounds like a good name for the Purdue student section.

IU had some really good assistant coaches there for a while. DeBoer was probably the best coach we have ever had. Wommack, Hart, etc. Our coaching the last two years has been pathetic. We need to pony up some bucks better coaching and the wins and better players will follow.

USC and UCLA to the Big Ten ?
Common Sense replied to IU Scott's topic in General Basketball Discussion
I fully expect IU to be part of the "BIG 12" once the BIG eventually evaporates along with UNC, Duke, Kentucky, UCONN, Arizona, Kansas, UCLA..... Schools that hang their hat on basketball but stink at football. I -

Interesting. I could see a mega conference down the road with just the top 20 football schools with 4 or 5 divisions. -
Then he needs to find a way to shoot much more than he did last year.

Dr. Brian Sloan/Sloan Screen 45 just retired from emergency medicine here in Indy. True team player.

Get the money now and focus on basketball pretty much full time. He can always go back/to college if he fails at OTE or when his normal playing days are over. Here is a question. If a scholarship player decides to go pro, does IU still honor the scholarship benefits if the former player just decides to come back and get his degree or would the former player need to pay for that? -
8th Grader? College program changer? No disrespect. That is just crazy to think about.

Payton Sparks Commits to Indiana

I agree. He is just going to get better and better with the resources IU has to offer. I look forward to his contributions through his hard work. -
I wonder how much this is Kentucky misdirection to try to keep Reeves. IMO we have one scholarship left and should save it for someone better than we already have or just not use it. I'd take Reeves.
