  1. Looked up Nate McMilian's playoff record and it isn't pretty. He has coached 18 years and made the playoffs 10 times and has only won a series once. Not saying he should be fired but it seems like he can only get you so far but not over the hump. The problem right now that there are not many great candidates out there to hire.
  2. Well the Pacers season will be over in a minute down 10. It would been nice to see McMillian make an adjustment by going small in the 4th quarter since the Celtics did. When they put Morris in as the 4 and the only big is Hortford the Pacers can't have both big's in the game. To me the main difference in this series is the coaches because Stevens totally out coached McMillian in this series.
  3. I have to question Nate McMillian and his substitution patterns. With 5 minutes to go and down 1and he has only two starters in the game. Boston has all of their top players in the game. He coached well this year but how he subs totally frustrates me because he goes with a pattern and not who is playing well. Collison is playing well today but he has had Joseph in there the last 7 minutes and he really has not played well.
  4. The NBA is totally soft if you saw what they just called a flagrant foul on the Pacers. Back in the day there might not have been a foul called at all.
  5. I know a lot of people like the way the NBA play and I agree with some of the teams like GS but watching the pacers Celtics series it is so hard to watch. I get so tired of just watching the pick and role at the top of the key on every possession and to me that is not how basketball is suppose to be played.
  6. Through 3 quarters the Pacers have missed 14 shots within 3 feet of the basket and was down one. If they could have hit half of those they would have been up double digits. Sabonis has been totally horrible this series because the Celtics has totally taken his left hand away.
  7. Well in game 3 it showed that defensively Turner and Sabonis can be on the court together especially when the Celtics went small.
  8. Well when we made the PG trade everyone couldn't believe we got much back for him. When you have a player who is a year from free agency and pretty much made it known that he is not coming back you will not get back true value.
  9. This is my trade idea but probably would not work New Orleans get Turner Holiday Leaf Draft picks Pacers get Anthony Davis If we had Walker and Vic maybe Davis would see that he could here and have a big 3 and be life PG and stay in Indy.
  10. I would say we need an upgrade at point guard and I would try to sign Kemba Walker. Also I would package Myles Turner in a trade to get an upgrade because I think Turner is never going to be a great inside player. He thinks he is a stretch 4 but he is a terrible shooter so he is a liability on offense.
  11. Pacers performance in these playoffs has been an embarrassment and it shows that there needs to be some major changes next year. Even with Victor this teams ceiling is about a 4 seed and maybe winning a series. McMillian coached well this season but his offense is so stagnant and plays so slow and they have to take a lot of bad shots at the end of the shot clock. Also he is so stubborn with his substitution patterns and never changes them. He thinks he has to make certain substitutions a the same time in every game and doesn't keep the hot hand in the game.
  12. Well I bet if Kyrie and KD leaves it won't be for Indiana or Utah but will be a major marker like New York. Those big market teams has all the advantages and if they don't succeed it is their fault because they are just inept.
  13. Yes those guys mentioned stayed in one place but that will be a very rare site going forward and those players played in a different era. Today these guys grew up being friends playing AAU ball and doesn't have that hatred that players back then had for their opponents like they did back when those others played.
  14. I just hate seeing small market teams losing guys they draft like New Orleans will in Anthony Davis. It seems like that teams form small markets who draft well will be penalized because today's players try to get together and play for a big market team. Wouldn't be surprised to see KD and Kyrie going to New York and playing together.
  15. The San Francisco area is one of the biggest markets in the country.
  16. Even as good as Reggie was he was never in the conversation for MVP and I don't think he every made the All NBA first or second team. I my point is that if you are from a small market you will have to get lucky and draft really well. That is why I think in the NBA you have to really suck for 3 to 4 years so you can get high draft choices. The Pacers have drafted well and got lucky with some of their mid range draft picks like Reggie or PG and Danny Granger. The Pacers had enough talent to compete but were never able to totally get over the hump and iwn a championship because they did not have those superstar players. They were beat in the playoffs by Bird, Ewing, MJ, Shaq and Labron and as long as they were not playing those teams they were able to advance in the playoffs.
  17. Here are the years the Pacers made the conference finals 94, 95, 98,99,00,04,13,14 They also had a 4 year period of not making the playoffs at all and that was between 07 and 10
  18. I said big markets or stars and Milwaukee has a huge star in Gannis. I don't think the Pacers made 6 or 7 straight EC finals but they have been to many over a 20 year period.
  19. Disagree but it is more on who they want to win and they want the stars and the big market teams to play in the playoffs. I remember getting hosed in game 5 at Boston in the early 90's. The rigged lottery system for the Knicks to get Ewing over the Pacers. The bogus 4 point play for Larry Johnson and the Knicks against the Pacers. The Ewing 4 step walk all the way to the basket to win a game in the playoffs. The bulls getting every call in the 4th quarter after the Pacers took a double digit lead late in the 3rd quarter of game 7.
  20. Agree to disagree because I have seen the Pacers get screwed for years in the playoffs
  21. Actually I saw this same thing on at least 4 drives by the Pacers in the 4th quarter. To me the officials started swallowing their whistles in the 4th quarters and stopped calling things they called in the first 3 quarters. Like I said this kind of thing is part of the reason I have really soured on the NBA the last 20 or so years.
  22. Yes it was if you watched the lower body because on the drive he had his arm in the back of Bojon. It was a clean block on top but he body him all the way to the basket. When Kyrie does that it is called a foul every time. One time when Turner got switched on to Kyrie Turner moved his feet great and Kyrie went into Turner and actually grabbed turner leg but Turner was called for the foul.
  23. To me the Pacers are stuck right in the middle where they are to good to get a top pick but not good enough to be able to compete for a championship. In the NBA you have to totally suck for 3 or 4 years and have top 5 picks every year or be a top free agent destination and the Pacers are not either one. Also I probably was way to emotional right after the game about the officials but this is one of the things that have soured me on the NBA the last 20 years.
  24. The NBA is the most crooked organization in this country by what they did to the Pacers in the 4th quarter. The refs swallowed their whistles on every Pacers drive to the basket with the Celtics shoving in the lower back. With the Pacers up 2 with a minute to go and Bojon got by Hortford but Hortford put his arm into Bojon's back with no call. The Celtics was mugging the Pacers the whole quarter with no calls but when Kyrie goes tot he basket he gets every touch foul. I guess I should be use to as a Pacers fan since I have seen the NBA screw the Pacers in the playoffs for years. Also the Pacers need major changes for next year because they have no athletic ability besides Victor and can't score through contact or score over people. Turner has to be one of the softest 7'0 footers I have ever seen and I was totally against singing him to that extension. They need an upgrade to the point guard and power forward unless Turner and Sabonis can play together but that is a very unathletic group. To bad you can't combine those two skills into one great player because turner has the defense and shot blocking but very little offense. Sabonis plays with heart with some good low post moves but separately they are just average players.
  25. I would like to see us to get to a point where we cans tart red shirting some of our freshman like Demezi or if we get Windham. UW has done this for a long time and it really has helped them develop their players over 4 and 5 years.
