I also think we didn’t need yogi as a freshman to do what we will need JHS to per day. Yogi as a freshman had at all times 3-4 people who could score and/or a couple that could make their own shot. He didn’t have to force much, just make the smart play and do what he was best at. Having Watford zeller oladipo sheehey hulls helped. Even Remy could come in and get his own shot or take a little pressure off. We need him to be able to really help Xj if he is still here(along with Galloway) and be a reliable offensive option which we haven’t had in our guard spot consistently. Idk what our roster will look like next year and that will play a bigger role in his role on the team from a necessity standpoint. Just hope he comes in and gets his defense where it’s needs to be in order to play the most minutes. I have high expectation from watching/reading and seeing his body type, which I’ve seen his defense is a plus right now. So we will see how it translates.

Agree with you for sure. It think if you look at raw talent UNC and duke have it. look at the state of their programs and they have it. Obviously raw talent isn’t the end all be all, but watching some(not all) of these games it’s very obvious which players can take it to the next level so to speak. You may not get the best game every night from Duke or UNC, but when they are on they are tough to beat. Miami used transfers to retool their entire team at the guard spot they are top notch. Guards win in the NCAA tournament. Working the transfer portal is more important now than recruiting high schoolers honestly, you are getting men instead of boys and in some cases they are more mentally mature and ready which is a bigger help than physically.

If what is said is true a split was needed. I just don’t like the way it unfolded. Woodson didn’t say anything defaming fife, fife didn’t say anything bad, but of course someone needs to get clicks. Nobody needed to know what all happened. It’s not our “right” to know as fans just because we overreact to everything and feel like we deserve to know every detail when we don’t deserve crap. Dane made the mistakes so be it, but he’s still a Hoosier who moved his family, left a great spot, and I don’t doubt he did a lot of the stuff with the best of intentions, which isn’t always good. But why put him on blast Rabjohns? No need to rub salt in an open wound. Just my two cents.

I don’t think we’re ever gonna be playing 12-13 players anyway. Leal keep his scholly. Dude loves iu, and he is good enough to give us some shooting off the bench. He’s not super quick on perimeter but his man to man defense when he isn’t in space isn’t bad. He’s smart, makes good decisions, great teammate, and probably best shooter on the team. Run some plays for him. I think next year without as many older players he gets 10 minutes a game and helps a lot more than he hurts. Another year in woodsons system he may get better on defense as well. I don’t think he came in with expectations to be starting or playing big minutes his first two years. I think he can give us more than Stewart did this year.

It’s actually depressing looking at the girls recruiting rankings for 2022 and 2023 and seeing 7 girls from Indiana and none of them going to Indiana. Uconn (2) maryland (2) michigan(2) Purdue

Also to add. He averaged 17 and 10 once Mac play started. And he’s very aggressive on the boards. Which I like..

Having seen him play 6-7 times last year he does play a lot of back to the basket. But he has a good free throw stroke (70 percent), but it looks good. He put on a lot of size from senior year of high school to now. Probably 40 lbs. scored in double figures 25 times last year. And technically only will be a sophomore, so still room to get better. He ain’t gonna be Trayce but I think he could average 12pts and 6-7 Rebs a game next year playing 25-30 mins a game. He’s only 6’9. So he isn’t just dominanting smaller schools with no size. He scored in double figures all but 1 of his last 20 games and shot 54 percent from The field. I’d rather have a big guy who can stretch the floor from 3 and open up lanes, but I think he would be a good get regardless and given how his shot looks he could develop a good jumper.

I watched sparks a few times last year live. Good stroke, positions himself well, smart player. Very impressed with him.

I’d guess leal, Geronimo, Galloway, bates are for sure back. If X is smart he would stay because I think he could grow his game the most and turn into a draft pick possibly. I don’t think any of the other “seniors” will Be back. I don’t think they have anything to gain professionally by staying another year. If Woodson does the same thing with Trayce this year it won’t help him either by staying. If they wanna hang out and be on campus, that’s fine but I don’t see a “reason” besides that for any of them.

I get it. I live in Ohio so I would rather see Purdue win it than Ohio State and their fair weather basketball fans that act like they only care when osu is good and otherwise can’t tell me one player on the team. That annoys the hell outta me. Football they can tell me what the players had for dinner when they were 9 years old, but osu makes a run in the tournament and they act like they have watched more than the 2 games they have seen that year.
