Well 4 minutes in and I’ve seen 6 calls in the big ten not called already.

In my opinion I would be disappointed because I know we can win tonight. 2 weeks from now maybe I would feel better about the season. I think we accomplished a lot in righting the ship and getting things in a positive direction. A win tonight would solidify us being in the tournament, but a loss wouldn’t make the season a complete failure. We showed that we got better as a team at the end of the year and showed some resilience and leadership. I think winning our first two games would be about where I think/thought we should/could be.

We have to value possessions this game. With the style and tempo both teams typically play with one turnover may feel more like 2 with a limited amount of possessions. From what I have watched the past couple days (maybe 2 hours of stuff) it seems Maldonado really is like a point forward and gets them in their sets. Some isos as well and a lot of high low. I think Jordan is our matchup for him when possible. They can shoot too. At this point almost every team can beat who they play sans a few of the higher seeds. The difference between a 4-12 seed in most cases is not super big. As someone said earlier I think maybe hurrying them up and trying to push the pace a little may be in our best interest. Don’t let them get comfortable.

My mom was in the Cleveland clinic and she had a tumor on her pituitary gland in her brain and one in her stomach that burst. While she was there Jared Jeffries was there getting a physical for pre draft stuff for the cavs. Him and this huge bodyguard walked by and my grandma stopped him and asked him for an autograph and he wrote “To Kellen, best wishes, your friend, Jared Jeffries…”I have it framed in my basement. He walked probably 50-100 feet to desk to find something to sign for me and it’s only on a Cleveland clinic pamphlet. Turned a terrible experience that day into one I’ll never forget. It was right after our final four run.

Def for that and fans. You could tell it was an experience thing. Nothing too crazy.

Being 32 I feel about the same way. I felt pretty good Yogis senior year as well but knew North Carolina would be tough. I did feel better Cody’s freshman year than sophomore, maybe the expectation wasn’t as much but they were playing very well.

I’m interested in the officiating as well. How we adjust to either a tighter/more strict game or with a little more flow if they let them play and get away with a little more. We need to avoid foul trouble with who they have down low.

Against Hastings college. But still that’s scary. I don’t think we could do that against a high school team…28-54 against anybody is good. One guy hit 11..I think we let race and tjd play straight up and see how it goes at first.

Geronimo threw down a dunk at the end that looked pretty effortless. So good sign. Awesome experience for sure. Pumped for tomorrow!!

Leal doesn’t miss very often lol..and tjd has hit 6-7 mid range jumpers in a row. So it is possible. Lol

They do. Thats brutal. But hey we all knew Kentucky and iu would be in the same bracket here too.

Wyoming isn’t 25-8 by chance. But also they have only played a few games against teams I would consider our caliber from a talent standpoint. Upsets happen every year and raw talent gets beat ALOT , however our defense should keep us in most games and Wyoming should be an easier game than 75 percent of the big ten. Just have to play defense and pray we can hit some open shots..

I also think it shows that 7-5 pre conference against good teams if you win a couple is a bigger deal than going 10-2 and and beating cupcakes. For future scheduling purposes. Have to schedule for quality not just quantity.
