  1. Lot's of great steakhouses in Colorado. Hey, after all we're in cattle country after all. Duh. Can't argue with their choice of the Buckhorn Exchange. Talked about it on these forums a while back. Oldest restaurant in Colorado. Where President's all the way back to Teddy Roosevelt dined. But if they are going to list the Buckhorn, The Fort in Morrison, which I have talked about as well should be listed. Good choice for Indiana. Sparks in New York CIty as well. And I can't believe The Golden OX in Kansas City, did not get listed .GOLDEN OX And then. There is The Steakhouse, in the basement of Circus, Circus in Las Vegas. That has won so many awards, they don't have any room left to hang them. THE Steak House - Circus Circus Hotel & Resort
  2. Agreed. Cracking jokes about the guys looking gay. And then coming back with more. Was able to stay ahead of them. Cracked me up.
  3. Cheeseburger Cheeseburger- Billy Goat Tavern Never been to the Billy Goat in Chicago. But have been to one other famous one. With several locations around the city. The name of which escapes now. And I know that their choice for Denver. Big Daddy's has been around for years. And carries a big reputation. But have not been there either. But. The Cherry Cricket in Denver is famous for their burgers. And perhaps is more famous for their burgers, than Big Daddy's And I have been to the Cherry Cricket. Lastly. Getting back home to Indiana. Schoops has been around for decades. Schoops .
  4. Yugo. Just kidding. Just glad it was a minor fix.
  5. Umm. Maybe try to add some beans. Like Kidney beans. Or Kidney and Black beans. Just a suggestion. I know some people don't care for beans in their chili. But I do. Others like to top their chili with cheese or sour cream. And that's ok for them. But not for me.
  6. My wife has a coupe of great chili recipes. Of which I could not tell you the ingredients. She has the recipes in her head. However, when I make chili. I use the 2 alarm chili kit. Which has the instructions on the back of the box. Plus don't get alarmed by the name. As you can temper the heat any way you want. Lastly. Anymore. The only way for me to compliment chili is with a ton of Oyster Crackers. Continuously spread on top as I eat it.
  7. Dawson's dad talked about how blown away he has been with the passion of IU fans towards the game of basketball. Impressed that fans lined up to welcome them on campus. Admitted to getting goose bumps, in Assembly Hall. And actually brought copies of tweets from IU fans with him during the visit to IU. __________________ Having said all that. In the end. It is still going to be Dawson's decision.
  8. So funny. Have been to the Bluebird in B-town. But. Never to the one here in Denver. Bluebird Theater Denver, Colorado
  9. OK. My bad. When in doubt. Go with a burger. Hard to destroy a burger, IMHO.
  10. There's always a next time. Honestly have never had a dish at Ted's that I did not enjoy.
  11. Well. I don't really know what to say. Other than when I got to Illinois, and she dished the Chicago Dog... all I could think is that this person orders an impossible burger at Burger King, every day.
  12. Thank you for this post. As I believe you are correct. Can't but help think that this program is headed in the right direction. Thanks to Coach Miller.
  13. Here in Colorado. The Buffalo Tenderloin Steak is the way to go. Ted's is good. I like it. However since they don't offer a Buffalo Tenderloin Steak... I always go with the Short Rib.
  14. They must have left it up to me to nominate the Colorado State Food. And the nomination goes to Buffalo ! Truly. Buffalo Steak. Great taste.
  15. Thanks. It's been a number of years. However I do believe I had a burger in that joint in Alaska. Know for sure I have had a burger in the joint in Arkansas. And have stopped on the way home from Wyoming football games in the joint in Fort Collins, Colorado. Three great burger joints.
  16. Denver had 77 last Saturday (Nov 9). Mid 60's on Sunday. And woke up to 12 degrees, snow, and -2 wind chill at my house on Monday.
  17. That's funny about Rocky Mountain Oysters. But makes sense for Montana. When done right, Rocky Mountain Oysters are really good. The restaurant they have listed for Rocky Mountain Trout, in Frisco, is a place I have been to several times for lunch. Currently have several Rocky Mountain Trout caught by my son, in the freezer right now. Lastly. Iowa. Maid Rite. Loose meat sandwiches. Used to have one close to my house, here in Colorado. Sad, when it closed. Now... I make them at home.
  18. Harley's in Littleton, Colorado is really good. And in addition to having a large selection of off the wall hot dogs.... he will allow you to make your own, off of what he has available. No extra charge.
  19. Yess ! And Pete's kitchen in Denver. Can't comment on their Indiana choice. As I have never been to their Indy choice. However, I would have to say the Coney Dogs in Fort Wayne are above reproach. And The Koney King in Gary, Indiana, has been serving up great Coney Dogs, since 1920. Don't be afraid of going there. During the day. Main street Broadway. And they close at 6 p.m. Some of the nicest wait persons one would ever want to meet.
  20. Well thanks for that. I would not have known. As I have said. All Nuggets games have been broadcast in Denver, via Altitude Sports, in years past. Same owner as the Nuggets, as the cable channel. But are blacked out now. Due to a contract dispute. That, at the moment looks to last the season. Even the local NHL team (Avalance) with the same owner, is blacked out at well. Two teams , the Nuggets and Avalanche that are expected to do good things this season.... are blacked out for Denver TV viewers. Just think. If Pacer fans could not watch their team.
  21. Though I don't visit this thread often. I just happened to drop by. To say Sports Illustrated named my local team (the Nuggies) the best in the NBA. And named the Nuggets center... one of best of all time. I was shocked when I read that. But then again. It's SI.
  22. While not down grading their choice for Colorado for donuts. As I have never been there. I have to put a vote in for The Donut House | Colorado's Favorite Donuts Pretty dang good. So good that the Donut House started out with one location just a few years ago. And now has grown to 8 locations in the Denver Metro Area. Yet, despite all of that. No bakery/donut shop I have ever been to, has been better than the Glen Park Bakery, in Gary, that I grew up with. Polish ladies. Making the most delicious bakery items you could ever sink your teeth in. So good, that there was a line outside on Saturday mornings, waiting to get in.
