  2. Thanks TDH. Still the hardest working media guy on weekends !
  3. BASEBALL: A Film by Ken Burns-"BASEBALL FREE AGENTS AND COMMERCE" Though not a Burn video. Perhaps the greatest and weirdest professional baseball pitcher of all time : Rube Waddell is Baseball's Most Interesting Man
  4. I might have been 7 years of age. And a neighbor friend of mine. Earl was his name. Three doors down south of my house. Fired a loaded gun in his house. And killed his younger sister. This was like in the 1950's. But still resonates in my mind. Once again. I am not anti gun. People just need to understand. Then there was my next door neighbor. Who tore a wall out of the basement of his house. In order to have an indoor shooting range. Was there often with his son. Both members of Isaac Walton. Glen Park part of Gary, Indiana. Which still exists to this day. For you shooters. Check out their website : Glen Park Izaak Walton – Glen Park Chapter Izaak Walton League of America Inc. Conservation Club and Shooting Sports Facility And every New Years Eve. Looked forward to them shooting their rifles off outside, at midnight. To welcome the New Year in.

  6. It was no big deal. Just a doodie in the pool LOL
  7. Well, You could use the Bill Murray extermination method.
  8. I am sure some of you gun enthusiasts would be jealous of me. As I have not one, but two shooting ranges literally within minutes of my house. In fact, this one at Cherry Creek State Park is so close to my house, that I can hear when it is open. And especially when someone is using an automatic weapon. 9. The right of people to keep and bear arms. I have not any problem with the 2nd Amendment. Having said that. After getting out of the Army, during the Viet Nam war. I pledged. NEVER to touch another weapon the rest of my life. And have lived up to my pledge. Again. I have no problem with those that chose to do so, for peaceful purposes. Over and out.
  10. Both at Cook Hall : Tour Indiana's Cook Hall And in Assembly Hall : Indiana University Tour of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Great idea, "d"
  11. I proposed long ago that a statue outside of AH be established. But that was long before Coach went kind of wonky, hoping that any remaining IU Athletic admin person was dead. I have gone back an forth on Knight over the years. I am coming back. Slowly. And since there are statues inside of AH now.... starting to think that Knight may deserve one of his own.
  12. I would consider Bob Hammel to be one of those to be remembered. I know Coach Knight, who despised sports writers, thought Bob was/is the exception. As Andy posted above ^ : "All of us learn to write in the second grade. Most of us go on to do better things."....... Bobby Knight.
  13. I don't know about his email. However, his home address is in a couple of the links above. Shoot him a snail mail there.
  14. OK. Gonna try to turn this lemon into lemonade. Now that we know Coach's address. I took time out to shoot him a letter of appreciation for what he meant to me during his time at IU. Yes. Old school. Snail mail. No twitter or social media. Heard that at one time he reads his mail. And the one thing he always appreciated about IU. Was the fans. Hope he is able to read my letter. And I express my desire to all Hoosier Sports Nation members to follow my lead. And send a snail mail to Coach. Telling him how much we loved what he did for us. Maybe. Just maybe. Maybe HSN can do something that Fred Glass was unable to do. Get Coach into Assembly Hall, once again.
  15. Name the court after the General. Remember that ? Till Dick found out it was already named for another IU coach. Gotta hand it to Dick. He has always been in Coach's corner.
  16. Coach Knight has had many opportunities to make a public appearance at IU. Other than taking in the baseball game last Spring. Two stick out prominently in my mind. The first was when IU inducted Coach into the IU Hall of Fame. And he turned down the invitation saying his presence would take away from others being inducted that year. And then, when IU honored the 1976 team. I am not even sure if Coach replied to IU at that time. Never the less. It IS time for Coach to come HOME. Better late than never. And better now, than when it is too late. -------------------- As an aside. Dan Dakich is on record of saying that Coach has been on campus in private many times over the years. And has visited some of his favorite B-town restaurants as well.

  18. I will give another example. As I own rental properties. And not one week goes by that I do not get mail requests from people wanting to buy one or more of my properties. They have my name, and address to the house that I actually live in. Along, of course with the addresses of my rentals. It's public information. Anyone can get it. Either by checking the internet, or going to the county court house. Zillow, Redfin, and others are sources that have current property values all over the country. Might add. I checked on Dakich's house. Very nice. And sale date coincides with his tweet, and another tweet he made public about having to put a new a/c unit in his new house. Lastly. We all were amazed when we saw pictures of Tom Crean's house in B-town. Talk about a house. WOW. I didn't think they made them that big in B-town. I don't recall people getting upset about that when it was posted on Hoosier Sports Nation. I just find it duplicitous of Dakich who is a media type to come off against another media person, in the very same town he makes a living.... in this day and age, when all that information is so easily found on the internet.
  19. In this day and age. It's not impossible to find out information. In particular public records. Homes sales are public information. As an another example. And out of curiosity. I just checked the Indiana University Alumni Association member's section. And sure enough. Dan's address is listed there. Along with other information such as when he graduated, and where he currently works. Am I going to give that information out ? No. However, the two links I posted are public information. One of which Dan tweeted himself. And any IUAA member is able to check and find Dan's home address. It took about a total of 30 seconds for me to find it. I am not saying it is a good or bad thing. It is just what the internet has brought to us.
