Cool! Appreciate the follow up. I know nothing at all. However I would say this. The very people who know so much might be part of the problem the last 2 decades. We have to be the only fanbase in the country that worries about attending high school sectionals. Of course one or 6 of the tribe will come along and say ahh yes. The fans fault. I will offer this. Doing it the same way over and over again?

PS...if Woody is still here. Both Sisley and Mullins are Hoosiers. I'll also add JH to the list but the great part about this board is able to have differing opinions right....even if one side of the teeter totter is a bit heavy.

I hope you’re right on that. I think getting even 1 or 2 of that group would calm some people down.

At the end of the day recruiting is about relationships so I don’t like applying 1 size fits all strategies to it.

Oh for sure, as soon as she leave and is drafted, ticket sales will drop alot and Carver will go back to being mostly empty again.  Which does suck, currently women's basketball is top notch entertainment.

It’s been very entertaining. I’m worried next year the whole media will lose interest and just move on.

Iowa fans could have an interesting year. Without her I’m not sure they’re anything special.

Almost every game at Carver for the woman's is sold out and ticket get really expensive.  As much as i do not like her personally, she is good for women's basketball in general.  There are so many young kids here in iowa that want to play basketball now because of her.  Still don't like her myself.

I completely agree, but I’m worried we’re going to see the Usain Bolt/Michael Phelps effect. They were both huge and brought their sport new audiences. Their sports did a good job of marketing them and nothing else to keep those fans. Everything is marketed as the Caitlin Clark show without any real mention of anyone else.

Why didn't Hawkins stupid ass just catch the ball? That's usually what I do when someone passes me the ball, compared to letting it smoke me in the chops.

That review the other night was a joke. Smart play by X..... wow that was something I haven't had to type much. lol

Illinois fans will call it gamesmanship but everyone else realizes it’s just being dramatic. I think the refs were ready to move on but when he threw a fit they decided to call it.

i could be WAAAAAAY off base here, but i think perception carries way too much weight from game to game within the conference

When tournament time comes, the officials dont give a rat's tushy about perception, and that's a part of the demise of Purdue, and really the conference within the tournament.

I completely agree. The other night X had a could reviewed to see if it was a play on the ball. It seemed like it obviously was and it was only reviewed out of reputation.
The F1 at Illinois was similar. I think it was called out of reputation and Hawkins overreacting. Still, a sixth year senior needs to know better.

Any of you guys ever buy one of these Expert Grill Portable Charcoal Grills? I've got two nephews that are just getting started in life at their apartments in Chicago and Madison. They have patio/porch space but the landlords don't allow gas grills but I guess charcoal is ok....haha.

Just curious. Wanted to get them something for Christmas they could use all year as opposed to just Venmo $.

I’d second Weber. The travel ones come in 14” and 18” and are solid. The performance may not be much different than the Expert, but they should last much longer.

One thing that may be worth getting for an apartment is one of the better models of the 22.5” that has an ash bucket instead of just a tray.

Gone are the days of getting one of everything. Noticed the buzz (and lines) were way down this year.

I was going to go back for the Bananas Foster but it was gone. I’ve seen a lot of the Backyard Stout but that just doesn’t sound very good.
I did manage to get a 2022 Newton today.
Im cracking open my first 2023 original for the game today.

I'll ask.  I play cards once a month with a guy who is related to wife of Trent Green....Goode's uncle/aunt,etc...He was telling me this a few weeks ago but just like with anything these days with the portal you never know.

I don't think IU would have an interest with who we have coming in, coming back,etc...

I’d be interested to hear that. Hopefully it would be. Not offering him out of high school was a mistake that a lot of people noticed.

Just 2. The Eagle Rare 2 year and the Angel Envy 2 yr. My wife picked out the Banana Fosters for herself.

I almost got the Banana Foster today, but the prices for all of the variants is steep. I have a few bottles of the original to cellar and one that I’ll drink soon.

  10. I agree with most that McCulley should be a top target to keep around. I don’t know how much the offense will change, but I think every scheme could use a big, athletic receiver that can make a catch through contact.

Howland really stood out late in the season. He has a combination of size and speed that anyone would want.

The OL showed some improvement over the last few years and has some solid pieces that would be nice to keep around.

I assume Sorsby is gone, but Williams could still be a solid piece. I’m not too concerned about QB next year. I think someone will be ready to go there.

The fundamental collapse in trust comment is what has me confused. Was there a deal in principle and then IU backed out or the candidate backed out?

Could that be about the $3 million ‘appearing’ for NIL. They may be implying that something was keeping that money from coming out while Allen was coaching.

That was my first thought. I don’t think it’s worth overthinking random tweets.

If it makes anyone feel better, I knew people would be upset with the new hire right when Allen got fired.
