It was 8-4 in the 8th when I pulled up the game on the ESPN app. The potential tying run was on-deck when the game ended in the 9th (runners at 1st and 3rd with 2 outs). Even just watching the bottom of the 8th I could tell the zone was tight.

The biggest blow for Illinois is that they are...Illinois. L-O-L-I-N-I

I don't recall what I posted and I'm too lazy to look it up but I definitely expected us to end up 1-7 or some nonsense in that moment. Perfectly elated to be wrong and that we went the other direction entirely!

We owe them one for kicking us when we were down in our house. No mercy, sweep the leg!!

Not that I'm hand-waving bad officiating because trust me I get as frustrated as anyone about calls in just about every sport I watch at any level, but on the field in real-time with the speed of the game it has to be pretty challenging to catch everything all of the time. I think back to the only time in my life I had to be an official. It was a spring women's volleyball tournament at IU in the late 90's. I was a line judge and a ball hit near the line literally at my feet. It was a super close call, it happened fast. I had no help, it was my call. I basically just guessed and called it in bounds because it was super close. Man, I got the business from the players & coaches on the team on the wrong side of that call. At that point I decided my career definitely was not in officiating of any kind LOL.

Before I turned off the TV, one of the talking heads for FOX was comparing Mahomes performance tonight to the Michael Jordan flu game or some such non-sense. Huh? Football players play hurt all the time, especially this time of year. Just seemed weird to puffing it up to more than it needs to be.

Great game tainted by that late defensive holding penalty. But Roger Goodell says the refs are doing a great job so...yeah. lol

Man I can't stand LeBron, been that way for a while now. Back during his initial run in Cleveland, I was down with him. He just seemed like a super-talented kid with no ego back then. My how the times changed once he took his talents to South Beach.

Kopp has some dawg in him, I appreciate him a lot more this season. Maybe it was there last season and I did not appreciate it or notice it, but I see it here during this 8 game run.
