  1. true unlike PG(maybe he did, I cannot remember or he danced around the rumors).
  2. problem with Dallas for Myles is Porzingis is already there. Both play same positions, both are similar players(Myles is better defensively). Don't think they'll move on from the Unicorn considering they just gave him a max deal or very close to it
  3. Interesting all of the rumors are flying around.
  4. Salary works for Vic for Culver and say James Johnson(PF bruiser) would probably have to add say as future 1st rd lottery protected pick since Culver is still so young. That solves a SG position and small ball backup PF. As far as Myles goes, maybe Houston makes sense? Eric Gordon and Robert Covington for Myles and Doug. I think Justin returns which is nice.
  5. I saw the news about Hayward building a house in Fishers and that he's open to playing at home. I agree that Nate never allowed talent to develope. Niang is a small sample size, rotational player off of the bench for the Jazz this year, maybe Leaf could turn into that, however, I am not getting my hopes up about this. I think Goga takes a big step forward this upcoming season. I'd welcome Gordon, he'd start at the 3. So lets assume Vic and Myles are gone you have Aaron/Brogdon/Hayward/Warren/Sabonis(yes I have Aaron here as both he and Brogdon can switch both PG and SG positions). Right now your bench is McConnell(if option is picked up)/Lamb/McDerrmott/Leaf/Goga. Now I think you can improve your bench via trades through Vic and Myles. Net a vet SG in return that can start, slide Aaron back to the bench and then go find a stretch 4 vet. Allow for draft pick players in either trade to develop and may strike gold if we can get a first rd pick from each trade involving Vic and Myles. If we could somehow poach Jarret Culver away from Minny in a trade for Vic I'd be estatic. I think Culver can be a tough 2 way SG/SF.
  6. draft capital will matter going into the following years so including picks will impact cap space to some extent. IF there are truly 10 teams with interest in Myles this is good news. Should be able to net something good in return
  7. With how the Pacers front office and owners are operating, the only way to get big name guys(PG/Victor/Sabonis) is either through the draft or get lucky in a trade(See PG trade). We all know the Pacers history with drafts, mostly the last oh I dunno say 10 years have been short of average in terms of a return each year IMO with the exception of Myles Turner, Aaron Holiday(after 3 years IMO we can safely determine if this pick was good or not), etc. Now you need to spend money to win, plain and simple. OR get lucky and hit on a draft class and get great talent on cheap contracts and sprinkle around some very good veterans and an all star or two, aka Miami. The Simons need to spend some extra money then be content a few million short of entering the luxury tax or salary cap limit and being content with consistent playoff appearances year in and year out while having 1st rd exits every year. I do not think the Pacers should offer Vic a max contract. I love Vic and always will, however, more times than not he's a volume scorer, 4 or 5 boards per game and 3 or 4 assists per game at best. Yes he brings heart, energy and solid defense, however, factoring all of that into the equation plus a max contract at say $33 mil or whatever it is, that is setting a team/franchise up for failure. If Vic goes, I think you need to build around Sabonis, Warren, Brogdon and Aaron Holiday. You'll get decent assets in return for Vic, heck maybe even a 1st rd pick. All I am saying, as a 7 going on 8 year season ticket holder for the pacers it's the same thing every year. 1st rd exits come playoff time. Roll with Brogdon/Warren/Sabonis/Holiday, sprinkle in your returns from flipping Vic and Myles(oh I dunno 2 1st rd picks) and add some solid vets to the squad and I think we are right back at a 4 seed.
  8. Reports from the staff was he had blurred vision after getting poked and couldn't see throughout the remainder of the evening and into the late night. Take it what you may but he still played in the following games. Too many people outside of his ear getting in his head. Grass isn't always greener on the other side just ask PG. I love VIc but is his worth a max contract?? Personally I think not and IMO this is why he will be traded is due to his asking price.
  9. J Michael(Indy Star writer that covers the Pacers) confirmed that the article that Jared Weiss released had accurate information that J Michael had heard from previous conversations. Would not surprise me if either Vic/Myles or both are traded going into this upcoming offseason
  10. Or he’s painting a picture that you better not wait too long cause we aren’t holding a Ship for very long If you decide to take your time.
  11. 2022 wing Masai Troutman received an offer from Indiana today.
  12. From what I gathered, players adored Kenny and he had them on the rise before being let go.
  13. IF the said coach is available one would think it's someone not currently employed as a coach? Stan van Gundy or Kenny Atkinson maybe? If this said coach is on a current roster that would be tampering wouldn't it? I do not think they would go that far but then again I didn't think they'd fire Nate either.
  14. lol they extended him late June, made it publicly known mid Aug.
  15. four starters that can stroke the 3 ball(Brogdon/Vic/Warren/Turner) and have Sabonis man the middle would be fine.
  16. Going 3-16 in the playoffs in unacceptable, losing 9 straight playoff games. Yes no Vic in 2019, no Sabonis in 2020. BUT all teams deal with injuries its in the nature of the game.
  17. agree. Extension took place late June, wasn't announced to the public until 2 weeks ago
  18. If it is indeed Mike D'Antoni, Ps about to average 35 3s per game with Myles averaging close to 10 attempts per game lol Myles about to be unleashed as a 7 footer running around the 3 pt line
  19. Dan Burke is the defensive guy for the Ps. Get an offensive minded head coach and I think this teams arrow points up and moves the needle.
  20. Pacers fire Head Coach Nate McMillan
  21. Playoff P showed out last night(as I expected he would). If he can shoot 40% overall from the field consistently, Kawhi does what he does best and some role players fill in like last night then the Clippers will win the title. No unicorn last night for the Mavs hurt. Defenses shifted to Luka. I think the Clips win game 6.
  22. Pacers were never expected to win this series as soon as it started, although I expected them to win at least 1 game. Domas is their best player while Vic and Brodgon are the 2nd/3rd(debatable given the fact that Vic isn't back to 100% health yet). Some things from my view: Nate is something like 3-14 in the playoffs with Indy as a coach, this is very very bad. Miami switches a lot and what did we see yesterday most of the game iso ball or pick n roll. Not a lot of drawn up plays which led to many missed possessions especially down the stretch. TJ Warren made a name for himself during the first 8 bubble games and after the 50 point outburst, however, once the playoffs started he kind of faded back to a 20 point scorer(during regular season this is good but can't have this if you want to be great but understandably this was his first ever playoff series since Phoenix sucks). This team needs an offensive minded coach and I do not think Nate pushes them there. Statistically he's had one of the slower paced teams during his entire coaching career, that's a recipe for slower offense. Dan Burke is the defensive mind on this team, go get me a dang offensive minded coach. You have a great group with Brogdon/Vic/Warren/Turner/A. Holiday/Lamb(with Covid and the delay of next season this helps Lambs recovery time) under contract for next year, but after that you have nothing but maybe wild cards. Should Justin Holiday return that is great, however, you still are relying on Goga to play significant minutes when Nate wouldn't give him many this year. So who is going to backup Sabonis and Turner if Goga isn't ready? Jakaar tried this year but he's too small to play center, not athletic enough, and well there was a reason he was heading overseas to play ball at the time he got a call from the Pacers. I agree with some posts above that Vic is not a max player and I hope he realizes this. Someone will probably offer him a max deal or closer than what we can(cough cough Miami). But I would be fine to roll with Victor/Brogdon/Warren/A. Holiday/Sabonis/Turner/Lamb for the next 2 or 3 years and see what you can get from Goga(should improve but still need a PF via FA) and maybe a role player like Justin Holiday and others. If Aaron improves more and Victor improves and gets right back or close to 100% then that is a very solid team and IMO can make some noise next year and win a 1st rd matchup(barring any injuries).
  23. Go Paul George(PG fan here)! Yes PG had some big games while in Indy during the regular season and playoffs, however, he is struggling right now but I think he gets it turned around.
