  1. I thought the same. It's like he's attracted to trainwreck franchises for some reason. Just bizarre...
  2. How good will our "failed" "class" of TJD, Armaan Franklin and Jerome Hunter eventually look? I see the potential for the Thomas Bryant/OG Anunoby/Juwan Morgan class.
  3. As a GM, I wouldn't take Jimmy Butler. I've seen enough of his 💩-ty attitude to steer clear.
  4. Seems like it was just yesterday that the west was considered far stronger than the east.
  5. I don't get the fascination with Tyronn Lue. I thought he was lousy with Cleveland and LeBron didn't appear to have any respect for him. He just struck me as a caretaker coach that was brought in to appease the egos on the team. Didn't strike me as an effective tactician at all.
  6. Unless mama slipped it into my sippy cup, that would be a negative!
  7. My first memory of the track was time trials in 1969...Mario Andretti's rookie season. Due to being 4, my memories are limited. We had a picnic in the infield (apparently before the snakepit was a thing) and I watched cars whiz by all afternoon. Exciting stuff even for a little kid.
  8. I drove to Indy TWICE for that debacle. Saw a total of 10 laps. Dad took a buddy with my tickets Tuesday and they weren't even checking tickets at the gate. He said you could sit almost anywhere.
  9. This is me as well, although I never stopped following IndyCar and never miss the 500. You remember that hilariously bad CART race held on the same day as the 500 where like half the field wrecked on the opening lap?😄
  10. Appreciate the work you're doing...😉
  11. I'm lost. I re-read what Fouls said and still don't think he was making this an issue about marijuana, but I'll respect the request to move on.
  12. I think you missed his point"...this is not a marijuana violation..."
  13. What an idiot. He'll likely never see an NBA court again.
  14. So now you're fine settling for lesser recruits? Tomorrow, you'll probably be criticizing Archie for not trying and letting Lander get away.
  15. No question the players are incredibly talented. Here are the recent complaints I've heard, some of which I share, some are just common beliefs that I don't necessarily agree with, but seem to be widely-held... The games seems "scripted". Even if a team is down 20, they will often come back and make it a really close game, if not win it. Blowouts are uncommon even if a team jumps out to a huge lead. I don't necessarily agree with this but I've heard the NBA described in similar terms as pro wrestling (scripted). The tendency to take plays off. The effort, while at times intense, is not uniform. Players like Hardin and LeBron at times look like they don't even care about defense. (kinda agree with this one) Too many Russell Westbrooks and not enough Thomas Bryants. Everyone has a chip on their shoulder and act like they're too cool to show joy and excitement. Some act downright surly in interviews...just no decorum. (personally, I realize the frustration of being asked a dumb question, so I'd give several passes here, although at times, some players just seem to be acting like intentional jackasses). Big market vs. small market and star treatment perception. Maybe officiating is just that bad, but there's a perception that winners and losers are picked before the playoffs are even started. (likely untrue, but I can see why people think this) (somewhat related) Poor officiating/ignoring many calls that could be made such as traveling/palming/carrying. At times, just like in college, a LOT of contact is ignored. (about 50/50 on this one, personally) That's just off the top of my head, but those are things I commonly hear from people who don't like the pro game. My personal view is that their's likely some truth and some fiction in those five, but it does shed light on why people don't like the pro game. I'll always love a game that has Victor Oladipo in it. He's such a great ambassador of the game. If everyone played that hard with the off-court demeanor he has, I think the game would be more popular. (Not that I'm saying it's unpopular now.)
  16. Nice list...hope IU lands at least three of those. With classes like that, it's just impossible to "lock down the borders".
  17. I don't either. I'm just a casual follower of the NBA, but I like very little of what I see in Russell Westbrook other than his high motor. He plays hard like he's always got something to prove, but having something to prove is also his downfall. He may on occasion be able to turn off his ball-hog mentality for the benefit of the team, but he always seems to lapse into his "I've got to prove I'm the best" mentality and too often, he shoots poorly and his play is very costly to his team's success. He often pouts and is a surly interview when he has a bad game. His team should have written into his contract a $100,000 fine every time he answered an interview question with "next question." If Westbrook could just brush that chip off his shoulder and just play hard but play smart team ball, who knows what he could accomplish. If I'm a GM looking at, say Westbrook vs. Oladipo, I'm choosing Oladipo. Not necessarily because I think he's a better player, but because he does a far better job of making those around him better, because he's a far better interview and because I'll bet he's a far better locker room presence and leader. If Westbrook's mental game was as good as his physical talent, who knows how good OKC could be.
  18. I enjoy some DIY and did a lot of the finish electrical, internet, TV and phone wiring when we built a few years ago. Same thing on a barn renovation. Simply don't have the extra time to do all the DIY I'd like to, so today, I mostly pay the man. I've been forced into some pop machine DIY and I've learned a ton, but man...those can be complex. I've got one machine right now that's giving me fits and no amount of Googling and YouTubing has been able to resolve. I'd have given up long ago and paid the man if I could find a man to pay.
  19. He's not for me either. At least he didn't rape the maid like Kobe though.
  20. My best guess: exaggerating the force with which he was shoved forward by an opposing player...but that's just a guess.
  21. Looks a little like Vic to me...
  22. I thought Nik Stauskas would be a better shooter in the NBA. I was wondering why the Pacers would waive him so quickly until I looked up his stat line...nothing special.
