MSU really isn't a scary team when you look at them. Their guards are pretty average and they don't have a real dominant big front line. I just don't believe this is a typical Izzo team...at least right now.
Who's being exposed?? 😁 MSU very capable of playing like crap... getting reamed by Izzo at half...and coming back. However, it's going to take a monumental effort.
Yet both teams shot a great %...58% for Illinois and 61% for PSU. 5 TOs for Illinois...6 for PSU...6 fouls for both. But it sure looked like AAU much of the time...racing out of control. 🙄 It's just me I'm sure.
Sometimes I can't believe how fundamentally challenged some of the players seem to be. The problem is I'm old and remember great teams from my "yoot". 😂 And I realize the game is played with more emphasis on individual moves/abilities, but...sometimes I'm amazed at what I see being called a team sport. 😂
College basketball has really become hard to watch. It's just plain ugly so much of the time. Kids trying to make individual moves like the pros when they're not pros. I'm watching PSU vs Illinois and it may be close but it ain't pretty.
They aren't likely going to win the national championship because they aren't outstanding... but man, they are solid as a team. Not one of Jay Wright's best, but a good solid team.
Last but not least...they play smart bb.
Villanova up 64-53 over Butler. Nova shooting 48.9%...41.2% from 3
and 78.6% on ft. That's great shooting. 😊 With 6 minutes to go they have 6 turnovers.
