  1. Auburn is one of the worst offensive teams in the tournament. They are just playing a lot harder than Iowa. Shows what happens when you let a team get confident. We have done this so many times this year.
  2. He didn't play in the road game at Michigan. I went back and looked at the box scores, and other than the last home against Michigan, since returning from injury it appears Race has played about 20 to 21 minutes a game. I'm sure he's not 100% even yet.
  3. I wish I could be positive, but tell me, have the Hoosiers won two games in row since RT returned to the lineup ?
  4. I don't think the problem is TJD. The other seniors, however, have to step up and they haven't been able to do it consistently
  5. I am going to be that guy. I'll say the obligatory "i'm not a coach," so i'm dumb, but why does a sixth year senior stay in the game after multiple mistakes, but more talented (at least physically) players get yanked much quicker.
  6. Agree on Kopp, but it also seemed to me that a couple of open fast breaks looks he did not set his feet when he had time.
  7. Agree with just about everything, but I would point out that we had some experienced players that didn't play like experienced players
  8. I never post during the game, so this will probably jinx us, but I think Coach Woodson needs to seriously reconsider his "i'm going to ride the seniors" position.
  9. only team not facing a double-digit seed ?
  10. someone mentioned it, but look at our really bad loses, Arizona, Kansas, Iowa (can't include Penn St. in this analysis, that was just bad). All of those teams run a motion offense that we could not contain. Don't know what that says about Coach Woodson's defensive scheme. Seems like he is going to have to try something different next year.
  11. Iowa has not shot that well from 3 all season on the road. Tonight they lit it up. We can't win giving up more than 10 threes at home.
  12. absolutely right. Trayce missed two layups in the first two minutes of the second half and we give up two 3s, I knew it wasn't our night.
  13. My only thought is when MSU is allowed to go over Trayce's back for the halftime tip-in, but every defensive rebound we get is a foul, you are not going to look good
  14. I also saw the second angle from what appeared to be more from behind Fino and from that angle it did not appear that his arm touched Epps at all. Agree with the view from the first angle
  15. we had several opportunities to take the lead and kept missing free throws or making turnovers, but wow! what resolve to finally break through.
  16. One thing I'll add about soccer, a yellow card means that a second yellow card foul is automatic disqualification and your team now plays with 10 men, so while often done, it is a possibly severe penalty
  17. I waited a while to post, but this was just such an awesome win. If i'm not mistaken, twice we took the lead in the second half only to have Michigan come down and get a bucket and a foul to go back up by two. I kept thinking to myself, in years past that would have been the end of the comeback, but this team just kept battling back. So proud. Sure, a lot of things could have gone better on offense, but just such a clutch performance.
  18. One other thing. I know I've seen other people talk about this before, but I am always impressed with the way TJD handles himself with the press. He is always thoughtful, and actually answers questions rather than giving "coach speak". TJD truly is the best ambassador of IUBB in many years.
  19. Anybody think IU will try to get a medical redshirt on Duncomb because this lengthy illness ?
  20. absolutely agree with this. Hummel said of Bates, "he's got to go for the ball." if you watch the replay, he gets his hand on the ball.
  21. Haven't commented post game very often, but can't say enough praise for the defensive intensity. Wisconsin did hit a couple of threes when we lost their shooters, still can't afford to do that.
  22. I'm an IU guy, and I don't mean to start an argument, but when I think I want an IU guy it is because I associate a former IU basketball player with grit, smarts and a competitive spirit (and maybe someone who can shoot). When I think of hiring an IU guy I am, in a shorthand way, of saying that we need someone with the ability to bring those characteristics to his team. I also expect that an IU guy knows this is what made IU great, so he doesn't have to learn it. Doesn't mean he necessarily has to be IU grad, but like I said, he should already know this and so already understands what IU is about. Sure thought Woody knew this and he talked as if he knew this.
  23. maybe i'm wrong, but it looked like to me when we would get doubled on the wing, the wing defender on the off side (in this case CJ) would go half-way between the outside players and the Reneau player would take the bucket. We must have thrown three or four passed right to the wing defender cross court. Don't know why we couldn't do that.
